Recently, I’ve been thinking about the idea of connections. I did some research on the topic and found that Dictionary.com lists nearly twenty different meanings! This list shows how amazing this concept really is.

Here are just a few: - The act or state of connecting.- Anything that connects; connecting

part; link; bond; electrical connection.

- Association; relationship.- A circle of friends or associates.- Association with or development of

something observed, imagined, discussed.

- A specific vehicle, airplane, ship, etc. boarded in making connections.

- A relative, esp. by marriage or distant blood relationship.

make the connection

- A source of supply for goods, material, etc., that is scarce, difficult, or illegal to obtain.

- A group of persons connected by political or religious ties.

- Associates, relations, acquaintances, or friends, esp. having some influence or power.

- A channel of communication: a bad telephone connection.

Connections can be both casual and life-saving. They are a vital part of life and a vital part of the church. Jesus had the big connections, teaching thousands on hillsides and thousands in the temple. Crowds followed Him wherever He went. It seems, though, that His more intimate connections held the greatest value. Think of the twelve disciples in boats on a stormy lake; Peter, James and John alone with Him on the Mount of Transfiguration; Mary discovering Him by the garden tomb after He had risen. These were the connections that meant the most to Him. What kind of connections is God trying to start in your life? Where is He trying to take you? What power is He trying to release? What communication is He trying to make with you? What bad connections is He trying to remove? A Life Group is the place to make God-based connections that could lead to more than you could ever ask or think. C’mon – GET CONNECTED!

Thank you for taking time to read our Fall 2011 Life Group Guide. We are so excited about what God is doing in our church this year, especially within the small group setting we call Life Groups. Life Groups are integral to our ministry here at East Coast Christian Center, and we need them in order to run an effective church ministry. As we continue to grow and God continues to build us, our Life Groups become even more important in providing opportunities for you to connect with smaller ministries throughout our church.

In your hands, you hold the opportunity to join a Life Group and take a deeper step into East Coast Christian Center. Take some time and look at the groups that we offer. If you find one that sparks your interest, fill out the connection card to sign up. We offer a wide range of groups that meet on several different nights of the week and weekend. If you’re looking for someone to mo-tivate you or to help you grow in your walk with God, this is the place you’ll find it. No matter what stage of life or area of spiri-tual growth you’re in, we have something for you. If you happen to not find a group that meets your interest, call me and we’ll discuss what it takes for you to start a Life Group of your own. I am here to serve you in the best way I can, and I would love to help you find a group that best fits your needs. I am available during the week at 321-452-1060 ext. 132 and at [email protected]. Call or email me and I will help you get plugged into a connection that best suits you and will help you grow.
