Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will officially welcome the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy to the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite at Queen’s Park on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Her Honour will host a reception for local girls’ soccer teams, members of Toronto’s university soccer teams, Canadian Olympic and Paralympic soccer players, and representatives of organizations advocating for women and girls. Canadian country music singer Beverley Mahood will briefly perform during the reception. The trophy is currently travelling through Canada as part of its world tour in advance of the World Cup, to be held from June 6 to July 5, 2015.
