What is Advanced?
There are 3 types of Level 1 courses:
Advanced Academics (AA)
Pre - Advanced Placement (PAP)
Advanced Placement (AP)
Level 1 classes are faster pace with more rigor.
Level 1 classes are on a 6 point scale rather than a 5 point scale.
Which Classes are Advanced?
Advanced Academics
(AA) are rigorous
Level 1 classes that
are not linked to an
AP exam.
Freshmen level AA
class:
Intro to Engineering
Design
PAP classes are designed
to prepare students for
future AP classes.
Freshmen PAP classes:
PAP Biology, Chemistry
PAP Algebra I,
Geometry, Algebra II
PAP English I and PAP
Leadership English I
AP Information Freshmen level AP
class:
AP Human
Geography
AP Classes connect
directly to courses
taught in college.
Take national exam
in May to earn
