We want people to engage with politics again, especially those who do not vote, like young people. Nearly everyone you speak to has an opinion about something political. The problem is that people do not understand political concepts unless they are explained to them, and most of the time we assume that knowledge. The political terminology we use does not make us any more entitled to our opinions. There is always going to be someone with a greater, more nuanced and more detailed knowledge of any particular event, but if we are talking about subjects that everyone has a stake in, then it is those people who have spent the time and energy understanding these topics to make them accessible to all.TRANSCRIPT
