pampered. Like other ThinkPad laptops, the Helix meets eight US mil-spec durability standards. But due to its convertibility, Lenovo engineers faced an additional design

challenge. They had to pay particular attention to the coupling mechanism that allows the Helix’s keyboard dock to snap off, turning an Ultrabook™ into a Tablet, and back again.

The goal was to make the whole process instantaneous and fiddle-free. The mechanism also had to be strong enough to withstand thousands of snap-in and snap-out cycles. A

formidable task, but the design goals were achieved, creating a computer which exceeds ThinkPad laptops own industry-leading standards of durability and usability.
