1. Introduction

It is well known that America is one of the leadest countries in the world with thehighest number of attorneys, lawyers in general. Members of law structure belong to a

richer layer of American citizens. The reason is a large number of disputes, and it is not

possible to appear at the court without an attorney, who has 30% fee of the value of

dispute. Main characteristics of American attorneys are their resourcefulness, higheducation and love lowards the job.When we say high education it means that America is

a country where attorneys have to have a higher degree of education comparing to other

countries, and Republic of Serbia, too.

2. The structure of lawyers in the USA

There is a large number of attorneys in the USA who passed the admission into

law profession as patent attorneys. Patent attorney is a necessary condition for any kind

of practical activity if anattorney. To become an independent a Horney, you must have tohave some time spent as a patent attorney, which is a procedure before admission to a law

structure. A person who has finished law education, ig it doesnt go for academic career,

may start to work in law profession as an administrator or an assistant.

All attorneys un the USA who have finished with the procedure of admission intothe law profession can be devided into three categories:

1. Attorneys experts who are closely connected to law in their practice;

2. Attorneys who arent closely connected to law in their practice;

3. Attorneys who are in science-teaching activity.

2.1. Attorneys experts

The largest number of attorney experts is in a group of private practice attorneys.

But, among them there some of them who work as counselors. Actually, there are

employed and payed for their law council. A lot of companies need attorneys. In category

of attorney experts we can also mention police employers and investigating officers.They arent attorneys even they have the same education. This is one more difference

about law structure in the USA and other countries. Attorney experts are judges, district

attorney and members of military administration justice.

2.2. Attorneys who in their job arent directly connected to law

This, second group of lawyers are the ones who dont practice law bud are doing

some other job which is in some way related to law, mostly in politics. Large number ofpolitician are lawyers who dont practice law. According to statistics 70% of politician in

Government are lawyers.

2.3. Attorney who are in science-teaching activity

This, third group, is made of attorneys who are in science-teaching activity. Theyactually lawyers that work as professors at various universities. Their task is to teach

students about law and improve their knowledge.

3. Education of attorneys

As it is said, attorneys are the best paid in the USA, that is why we shouldnt be surprised

by the information about the lenght of ther education in this country. After finishing a lawcollege, you must finish master studies on any Law School in the USA. After finishing

this, they are ranked as Master of Law, than they have to take a Bar Exam which consistsof several parts and could be taken only in New York or California. When they finish aBar Exam, they can work in an attorneys office for some time, in order to get experience

which they need before they open their own attorneys office.

4. Conclusion

In last two decades, law profession in the USA has gone through big changes.Those changes can be seen through a larger number of attorneys, women entering law

profession and higher employment. During last few years, some theoreticians defined this

law profession as harmful. They come to a conclusion that in past few years come to

some changes, which show that in different segments of this profession there is growth ofcompetition and intolerance among the colleagues, which was not a case before. It comes

to more often conflict of interests according to which the importance and reputation is

being destroyed of this profession in the USA.
