LEGAL AND ETHICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT
Important aspects and understanding ethical and legal management in work areas
LEGAL AND ETHICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Providing good patient care and avoiding harm are
the cornerstones of ethical practice.
Healthcare workers want to do the right thing, but it
isn’t always clear how they should proceed. Every
situation is somewhat different, and ethical dilemmas
can arise even when a hospital has policies in place to
address them.
LEGAL AND ETHICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
How do you see yourself overwhelmed with your decisions, who will listen to you, how keep peace of mind?
LEGAL AND ETHICAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT Ethical dilemmas
need additional discussion relate to opt-out provisions that exclude patients from
electronic record storage, sale of DE identified patient data by EHR vendors,
adolescent control of access to their data, and use of electronic data repositories to
redesign the nation's health care delivery and payment mechanisms on the basis of
statistical analyses.
Understand the overwhelming financial question is who should pay for EHR
implementation .
