From the FILE menu, select OPEN and select a photo in which you want to rid the dark circles. 2. Duplicate the BACKGROUND layer three times using the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-J. 3. If the LAYERS palette isn't visible, press the LAYERS button on the bottom right of the programme. 4. Turn off the visibility of the top two layers by pressing the EYEBALL icon to the left of the thumbnail. 5. Make LAYER 1 active by clicking on the LAYER 1 in the LAYERS palette. 6. In the TOOLBOX, select the SPOT HEALING brush or press J on the keyboard. 7. Adjust the size of the brush to the smallest size possible to get rid of the dark circles. You can adjust the size with the keys [ ]. 8. Paint over the dark circles not worrying about the softness of the picture. You may need to brush over the area a few times to get the correct colour sampling. 9. 1. From the FILE menu, select OPEN and select a photoin which you want to rid the dark circles.

10. From the FILTER menu, select BLUR, SURFACE BLUR.

11. In the DIALOG box, enter RADIUS: 3 and THRESHOLD: 23. You may need to adjustthese to your liking if you do not get the desired result.

12. Holding down the ALT/OPT key on your keyboard, press the LAYER MASK iconin the LAYERS palette.

13. Press D on the keyboard to reset the default palette colours.

14. From the TOOLBOX, select a brush or press B on the keyboard.

15. I the TOOL OPTIONS aren't visible, click the TOOL OPTIONS button on the bottomleft of the programme.

16. Select a SOFT brush, adjust the size of the brush to the same size as you used with theHEALING brush, then adjust the OPACITY to 9-10%.

17. Paint on the areas you healed with the HEALING brush and blend the texture so thereare not abrupt soft to textured areas around the eyes.

18. In the LAYERS palette, click on the top LAYER and make it visible by clicking on theeyeball next to the layer.

19. From the ENHANCE menu, select UNSHARP MASK.

20. In the DIALOG box, adjust the AMOUNT to 100-103%and the RADIUS to 1.2-1.3 pixels.

21. In the LAYERS palette, change the BLENDING mode to SCREEN.

22. Holding down the ALT/OPT key, click on the LAYER MASK icon in the LAYERS palette.

23. Paint on the areas around the eyes to return the texture back to the face.

24. If the eyes become too light, adjust the OPACITY of the layer to your liking.
