AquaTanks are moulded in one piece using GRP materials as approved by the Water Research Centre. Built to BS4994. All tanks and lids are pre-insulated with 25 (.85/mil’C) C.F.C. free foam fully encapsulated within the laminates as standard. Two piece, 50mm and 75mm insulation options are also available on request. All tanks comply with the Water Regulations (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 and incorporate a type ‘AB’ air gap and are fitted with a raised float valve chamber with screened mesh slots. All tanks are in light grey to BS5252.

IRRIGATION PUMPS FOR KEW WAKEHURST

Wakehurst in West Sussex sits in 465 acres of country estate with ornamental gardens, temperate woodlands and an Elizabethan Mansion. It is home to Kew Gardens Millennium Seed Bank Partnership which aims to save plants worldwide with a focus on plants most at risk and most useful for the future. Aquatech Pressmain supplied two sets of submersible irrigation pumps and controls systems to enable water to transfer from Southdrive Pond to Westwood Lake.Although artificial, the lake is much more than a decorative feature. Obviously, it is a useful habitat for local plants and animals, but less so, it is vital as a water store for the estate. The small building alongside the path on the west side of the lake is a pump house, distributing water when needed to the many watering points on the estate’s irrigation system. Mains water from the public supply is never used to water the plants growing in the Nursery or in the estate.

Custom software in conjunction with energy efficient variable speed control system was used to ensure a set volume of water is transferred daily between the pond and lake for use by the irrigation system.Design consultants: Skelly & Couch – LondonInstallation contractor: ETON Associates – London

City Tower is a 19-storey tower landmark building in the heart of the City of London, owned jointly by Great Portland Estates and Starwood Capital. CITY TOWER LONDON

“Mothership?” I hear you ask.The ‘Mothership’ is a dedicated service hub installed within a standard shipping container which provides water, drainage and electrical services to the bedroom units of Snoozebox Portable Hotel.Aquatech Pressmain’s Booster set is a vital part of the service hub, allowing the mothership to supply hot and cold running water at a constant safe pressure. Aquatech Pressmain produced a bespoke design to suit the limited space constraints, with no compromise on specification offering the latest high-efficiency variable speed pumps.Snoozebox, designed by Atelier Ten, was first installed at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2011 and was a fantastic success. It is now a regular sight at events such as the Isle of Man TT, various music festivals and made an appearance in the grounds of Windsor Castle for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Built using a Mothership to support bedroom units within 12-metre shipping containers, Snoozebox Portable Hotels are designed to be self-sufficient for use in remote locations and can be set up ready for guests within 48 hours of arriving on site.

As part of the services enhancement work Aquatech Pressmain have provided a bespoke LTHW pressurisation unit to control the expansion of the combined 49 megawatt load from two energy centres feeding the services at terminal 5. Aquatech Pressmain supply rain water harvesting system for the new visitors centre “Little Paradise” at Salisbury Cathedral.Little Paradise is first permanent new build at Salisbury Cathedral since the fifteenth century. A purpose designed building providing new toilet facilities supplied via the rain water harvesting unit, it marks a significant milestone for the cathedral as it looks to deliver a long term programme of improved facilities for its congregation and visitors to the Cathedral and surrounding Close.The building combines timber, glass and stone to blend perfectly with the historic environment around it, and has minimal impact on the fabric. It replaces temporary toilets, enhancing the appearance of the south side of the building and simultaneously returning the south cloister, which had become an over-flow storage area, to its

original beautiful and reflective space. The project has been made possible through donations, legacies and pledges from the Friends of Salisbury Cathedral and other generous supporters.
