What is the SPSA?The purpose of the Single Planfor Student Achievement (SPSA)is to create a cycle of continuousimprovement of studentperformance, and to ensure thatall students succeed in reachingacademic standards set by theState Board of Education. TheSSC is charged with developingand monitoring this plan.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

PTA is the largest volunteer childadvocacy association in the nation.At LCH, The purpose of the PTAis to provide programs that enhanceeducationally related opportunitiesfor our students, our teachers, andthe community.

All site based fundraising isconducted through our PTA.

School Site Council (SSC)The SSC develops and maintains theschool improvement plan to help allstudents learn the core curriculum asestablished by the district and state.The School Site Council shall haveongoing responsibility to review theimplementation and to assessannually the effectiveness of the plan.The SSC shall recommend the SPSAand expenditures to the GoverningBoard for approval.

English Learner AdvisoryCommittee (ELAC)

The English Learner AdvisoryCommittee (ELAC) is a committeeto support our second languagepopulation at La Costa Heights.Parents of English Learners areencouraged to participate on thiscommittee to oversee all relevantinformation, documentation, andtraining regarding school programsand services for English learners.

Encinitas Educational Foundation (EEF)The EEF is a foundation that supportsall nine EUSD schools. LCH pays $1per student to belong to the EEF. LCHsends two representatives to allmeetings who are responsible forfinding volunteers to support districtEEF fundraisers such as golftournaments, Legoland days, winefestivals, farmer’s market, etc. Allmoney earned in these collectiveefforts are allocated equally to allEUSD schools. This year the moneyearned is being allocated to supportthe fifth grade BizTown Program.
