Beginning right after birth a mother strokes her newborn’s face, and the child begins to learn about love

The ability to express love through touch and gestures is a universal experience

It is this experience that the Church builds upon when its representatives lay hands on a Confirmation candidate and pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit

This gesture expresses and brings to fruition the love and relationship that God desires for all his children
