Mercedes Benz has changed the consumer perception of their luxury range of

off-road vehicles with a 30day off road event in Jordan. Around 200 journalists,fleet buyers, after sales representatives and showroom salesmen from the

Middle East enjoyed an event which took them over tough trails within an area

surrounding the Dead Sea base. During the event based at the lowest point on

earth, drivers started from 388 metres below sea level and drove to a maximum

elevation of 859 metres above sea level.

On 1 July 2010, improperly functioning valve springs have been found in some

Lexus vehicles. There is a small possibility of abnormal engine noise, unstableidling, a misfire or the engine warning light may illuminate. In very rareinstances, there is a chance that the engine may stop. There have been noreported accidents.

The affected models are the Lexus GS 350, GS 450h, GS 460, LS 460, LS 600h,LS 600h L.

Al-Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor for Lexus in the UAE, has saidthe new 2011 model year Lexus range will feature the brand's ultra exclusive

supercar, the LFA, marking the arrival of a ser ies of F marque highperformance vehicles in the UAE. Featuring a 4.8 litre V10 sports tunedengine that produces 560bhp and top speeds in excess of 320kph, the LexusLFA is set to arrive early next year in the UAE. Originally unveiled as a

supercar concept in 2005, the LFA has since gone into full production withonly 500 models available worldwide.

In 1989, after an extended development process, Lexus involved 60 designers,

24 engineering teams, 1,400 engineers, 2,300 technicians, 220 support workers,

around 450 prototypes, and over US$1 billion in costs, the LS project was

completed. The Lexus LS 400 had a unique design that shared no majorelements with previous Toyota vehicles, with a new 4.0 L V8gasoline engine

and rear-wheel drive i.e. LS400.
