We Invite Y ou And Your Families! We would like to invite families at meal time to spend time with their loved ones at Longhouse/Northshire. To be able to provide a nice experience for all we encourage families to let the facility know in advance of your visit. This will help us prepare a place for your family to be together and to have enough food prepared for all to enjoy. A free will donation is welcome for the meal.

LOOKING BACK AND AHEAD IN ACTIVITIESAugust started off with a quilt show by Norma, and some of the residents brought their own quilts they had made as well. The ladies also enjoyed manicures and music first of the month. Thanks to Pastor Tracy from New Life Worship for leading our Bible Study for both LH & NS. The residents got to experience the properties of KINETIC SAND, cool stuff! Movies this month were on Butterflies, and the 75th anniversary celebration of the “WIZARD OF OZ” movie.

Our highlights in September were the week of The Clay County Fair. We started out with a ride on the Lions Club wagon and then off to a Saloon Social with root beer shots, haystacks, cow pies and a real cow bell! We had cake decorating lessons and judging, butter churning, and don’t forget MIDWAY games to top off our fair week!

The SHS Football team stops by every Thursday evening to have some “TIGER” time with the residents. GO TIGERS!

In October we will enjoy Fried Bread, Halloween fun and Wine & Dine for the residents. Join us on our web site to see the October calendar of activities.

Next we had a “Saloon Social” Complete with Root Beer Shots, Haystacks, Cow pies, Chips and Dip. We had cowboy hats, bandanas and sheriff badges for the residents to wear to the party.. We started off our Saloon party with some good ole western games.

Virginia, Ruby, Wild Bill of the West, and Cowboy Ness all try the horse shoe game for a ringer!

We can’t forget Fern our cow bell ringer for the Saloon

A BIG THANKS to the Lions Club with their wagons for the ride around the fair. We also made a stop at the Jone’s Café for a doughnut and 7UP treat. Thanks Deb and family! Then it’s back to the Nursing Home to Churn butter with Norma.

When Farmer Bob opens his box of tricks you never know what will

come out!

Joyce got a pink bird of paradise from Farmer Bob.

Jerry Roberts made us bird feeders from tree branches put holes in them and the Sunshine Smiles helped the residents fill the holes with peanut butter to

hang outside for the birds.
