Accommodation in Lagos The Kaplan International College Lagos residence is designed to meet all your requirements during your studies. The residence is a safe and secure building, in a convenient location for the College. Apartments are fully furnished to provide a relaxing and functional living space allowing you to live and study in comfortable surroundings. In our student residence you will settle and enjoy your new life as a student from the day you arrive. KIC Lagos Residence features Our student apartments give you guaranteed benefits such as: Residence facilities • Three meals daily

• Penthouse dining room overlooking the ocean

• 24-hour security and CCTV cameras on the landings leading to each apartment, and externally

Apartments

• Dormitory-style living in separate apartments

• 9 apartments, divided over single gender floors

• All apartments contain 4 ensuite bedrooms, a large common living space, and a balcony.

• 1, 2 or 4 bunk beds in a room, sleeping 2, 4 or 8 students per room

• Lockable drawers for each bed, to enable students to protect their valuables (padlocks provided by the residence)

Other accommodation options Our residence offers a safe, relaxing and functional living space, allowing you to focus on your studies and make the most of your free time. However, you may choose other housing arrangements:

• Staying in the family home or with family members You may already live in Lagos, and intend to remain in the family home while you are studying at the college, or you may plan to live with family members in Lagos.

• Private Accommodation

You may want to rent private accommodation in Lagos for a more independent living experience. Whichever option you choose, you must indicate it on the Accommodation Booking Form in this guide.

Booking your accommodation Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, but you do have the chance to request to share with a friend and you should indicate this on the booking form. However, we recommend you book as early as possible to have the best chance of having your request granted. Step 1 Complete the Accommodation Booking form in this Guide and return it to the College by email. If you have any questions, please contact the Head of Facilities and Accommodation (details opposite). Step 2 You will then receive a confirmation letter and accommodation contract from the College. In order to secure your place in the Kaplan International College Lagos residence, you must sign and return the contract, along with payment of the required fees. (By signing the accommodation contract your parent/guardian accepts joint responsibility for the financial aspect of the contract, and agrees to be the point of contact in an emergency). Pre-arrival information Student Pack To make your move as organized as possible we have created a student pack that provides many of the essential items you need to settle into your new accommodation. Please see the box below for the contents of the Welcome Pack. This is an extra benefit that would not be available in privately rented accommodation. What to bring for checking in at the accommodation

• Copy of your signed accommodation contract and confirmation letter • Proof of ID, for example your passport • Your personal effects and clothes • Extra provisions (e.g. milk, cornflakes), if desired
