My approach and style to photography is pure, natural, simpleand fresh. I am your storyteller. I’m here to capture the story ofyour newborn baby and portray that through my vision. The firstfew days when he/she is sleepy, squishy and curling up as if still in thewomb. The first smile, the flaky skin, and the swish of curl upon his/herhead. Hi! I’m Kylie Dunlop! I’m a natural lightProfessional Family Portrait Photographer with a specialty in Newborns, photographing frommaternity through 2 years of age. I havespent the last 4 years photographing, studying, and educating myself in newbornphotography. I pride myself in beingphotography. I pride myself in beinghighly experienced in handling and soothingnewborns. I love babies: their squishy littletoes, sweet smiles, and tiny button noses. Ohand I have 3 babies of my own -­ so have a little bit of personal experience as well!

I love to use soft colors of white, creams, browns and grays. On occasion I will add in small pops of color, but I don’t like anything to distract from the baby, so I try to keep things simple and pure. I rarely use many props besides hats, headbands, blankets and wraps. I prefer to keep the focus on the baby.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you are coming to me, you should expect to arrive 10-­15 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for feedings. The room is kept at around 30 degrees in order to keep the baby warm & comfortable. Newborns can lose their body temperature quickly, especially when unclothed, so we need to assure they are kept warm at all times. You may want to dress in layers so that you are comfortable as well.You may want to dress in layers so that you are comfortable as well.

Please know that babies pee and poo on everything and you don’tneed to worry. I have plenty of wipes and pads on hand and everything is washed after each session. There will be a whitenoise machine running to help soothe the baby. Feel free to sitback, relax, read a book, or even take this opportunity to take anap yourself!

Your newborn session will be a special milestone in your baby’slife. I want to help you tell the story of your new baby. I like tocreate a calm and peaceful environment during our time together. It’s important to let me know if we will be photographingolder siblings, as well as mum and dad shots. NEWBORNS

The best age to photograph newborns iswhen they are between 5-­10 days new.During this time newborns are still verysleepy and curly. They don’t mind youmoving them around from pose to posewhile they rest in dreamland! Once theyhave a full belly and are kept warm, theyhave a full belly and are kept warm, theywill generally sleep the entire session!

This is not to say we can’t photographyour newborn at any other age. Beautifulimages can be captured at any stage.However, you should know that oncebeyond this “new” stage, we may not beable to get the curly poses. If you areable to get the curly poses. LITTLE BOYS

WHAT TO BRING

-­ The “NUK” or “PIGEON” dummies are highly recommendedfor your newborn baby. I have found them to be the most effective insoothing and helping newborns to latch on easily. Even if you aren’tthinking you will want to use a dummy, I encourage you to bring one to your session. The short amount of time we will be using one shouldnot affect any habit-­forming behaviors for your baby. My goal is tonot affect any habit-­forming behaviors for your baby. -­ Whether you are nursing or bottle feeding, havingextra bottles and/or milk is suggested. Some babies tend to eatmore than usual during their photo sessions. It’s best to be prepared!Feel free to bring food for yourself as well, although I will have snacksfor you in the studio.

-­ Hand knitted hats, blankets, a special toy, rattle....these are all things that help create the story of your baby’s firstfew days of life. I love photographing separate items to be used intheir newborn albums!

My goal as your Photographer, is not only to pose the baby into the curly, squishy poses everyone loves, but to also capturenatural imagery portraits of your newborn. This is a time to reflecton the true, untouched, unposed expression of the baby asthemselves. Little things that help shape and mold them in towhom they will become as a person are special and unique toeach baby. each baby.

AFTER THE SESSION

Within 7 days from your session, a “sneak peek” of one or twophotos from your session will be posted on my facebook page.This is a great time to forward this on to family & friends & build upsome referral credits for yourself! For each referral that books anewborn or family portrait session, you will both receive a $100 print credit!$100 print credit!

Proofs will be available for on-­line viewing within 3 -­ 4 weeks.I will provide a private, password protected gallery for you to share with family and friends. They are welcome to contact me to placetheir order. The gallery will remain active for 7 days. There will bea $50 per week fee charged for galleries requested to remain active beyond this timeframe.
