About KyleMy StartMy inspiration came at a young age when I discovered a love for photographing people. I used to annoy my friends by taking a million pictures of them. I was amazed by the rare can-did photos that truly captured the beauty and essence of a person and became obsessed with creating more images like those. When I decided to turn my passion into a profession, I began a year long internship with a professional photographer and learned photo retouching, large format printing, and was given the opportunity to hone my photography skills at weddings and other photo sessions. The next year I became a full-time professional photographer and have not looked back since.

My StyleMy creativity is always inspired by the amazing couples I am able to work with. Every cou-ple and venue is unique so that each wedding has its own distinct look. The consistent style that I have become known for is the strong use of color in my images. I tend toward using vivid colors while making sure they look as bright and bold in my photographs as they do in real life. One element that sets me apart is using studio lighting outdoors. By controlling the light, I am free to be creative in my choice of backgrounds instead of being limited to using locations that naturally have ideal lighting. I tend to use simple yet elegant posing so that my clients look natural, keeping the focus on their connection and emotion. By keeping my photo sessions fun and relaxed, I am able to create an environment where couples can be them-selves and allow real moments to happen.

My StoryI married my beautiful bride, Katie, 5 years ago; she works full-time helping manage the business side of Kyle Bultman Photography. We have two adorable rescued dogs, Pixel and Widget, and enjoy taking them hiking, mountain biking, and on rock climbing trips. I also enjoy writing, philosophy, video produc-tion, drumming and anything to do with aviation.

Engagement PhotographyEngagement photo sessions are such a great opportunity to get to know my clients that one is included in every wedding photography package. I have had the privilege of working with so many incredible couples that I really value the engagement photo sessions as a chance to spend more time with each couple. The passion couples have for each other during their en-gagement makes it a real joy to work with them and it is so much fun capturing that stage of their lives. Showcasing that special connection makes engagement and wedding photography more interesting and meaningful to me than any of my other work.

Engagement photo sessions are 2-3 hours to allow time to capture a wide variety of pictures, locations and multiple outfits. After the session, the best 100 photos are selected and then individually edited to ensure that each photo has the best color. This level of quality does take time, but within 3-4 weeks you will be sent a flash drive with 100+ full resolution digital photos along with a copyright agreement that allows you to print the photos wherever you wish.

With any package offered by Kyle Bult-man Photography, you receive full cover-age of your wedding day by Kyle Bult-man and a second photographer. The photographers arrive before the bride puts on her dress and stay well into open danc-ing at the reception. Our team at Kyle Bultman Photography works alongside you to create a wedding day schedule that ensures enough time is dedicated to cap-turing all the photos that are important to you, while still allowing you time to en-joy the day with your friends and family. Our photography goes beyond covering just the events and formals, by giving attention to all the elements that com-prise your wedding day and telling the full story. We take the artistic, creative shots that will look amazing as a full page spread in your wedding album and also take the classic shots that will look great hanging on your parents’ wall. Throughout the day, we not only cover what is happening, but also photograph the guests and their reactions so that you can experience the day from their point of view as well. In the planning process, we make it a pri-ority to be available to you as a resource and put our seven years of experience to work for you. We work with you to find the perfect locations for your pictures that show your unique style, go over all the details in advance so that on the big day we are able to keep everyone on time, and assist in making your day run smoothly.

Each package includes an engagement session and full coverage of your wedding day with photographer Kyle Bultman and a second photographer. You benefit from having two photographers which provides two unique perspectives of your wedding day and provides better coverage of all the events. The flash drive contains 100 or more full resolution digital photos from the engagement session and over 500 photos from your wedding day. All images are edited for excellent color and clarity. A copyright agreement is included with the flash drives that allows you unlimited access to print or share all of the images. An online slide show and gallery is also created of both the wedding and engagement session that make it even easier to show off your photos to all your friends and family. What equipment do you use?We shoot on full frame Canon cameras, cur-rently the 5D Mark III and 5D Mark II. We use Canon prime lenses, and Canon L-Series zoom lenses. For off camera lighting, we use Paul C Buff and Elinchrom lights.

Do you have backup gear?Yes. We pack four cameras, eight lenses, three flashes, and two lights to every wed-ding. Do you travel? We travel for free within an hour radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan for weddings and engagements. We love to travel outside of Michigan and especially enjoy destination weddings. We estimate bare minimum trav-el charges on an individual basis so that you do not have to compromise on high quality photography for your out-of-town wedding.

How far in advance do you book? We regularly book as far in advance as a year and a half or more, so book early to improve your chances of being able to work with us.

How long have you been in business?Kyle Bultman Photography was established in 2006. How do I move forward to book Kyle Bult-man Photography for my wedding?We like to have a chance to connect with our clients and make sure we are a good fit for each other, as photography is a very per-sonal service, and we will be spending a lot of time together on your wedding day. We would prefer to meet with you in person, but will Skype if necessary. We require a signed contract along with the first payment of your invoice to book us for your wedding.

How much money is required for a retainer to book you?We use a three-part payment schedule for our wedding packages. The first third of your package is due at the time of booking. The second third is billed halfway between the booking date and wedding, and the final pay-ment is due two weeks prior to the wedding. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after they are received. Do you accept credit cards? Yes, we accept credit cards over the phone or in person. Cash and checks are accepted as well.

How long does it take to get my album? It takes one month after you have received your images for us to design and share your album with you. Once approved, it takes 4-6 weeks to print and ship back to us.

Do I choose the photos for the album? Most brides are quite busy after their wed-ding and find it difficult to take time to pick out album images. For this reason, we select the images that we feel tell the complete story of the day. We do, however, allow you to preview the album before printing in order to make any changes you would like.

Do you have a studio? Our passion is shooting on location. However, if the vision for your photo session requires a studio, we do have access to a local studio.
