Teaching on the Three Principal Aspects of the Path

Mar 19 (Sat) : 3:00pm – 6:00pm Teaching on Three Principal Aspects of the Path (Session 1)

Mar 20 (Sun) : 3:00pm – 6:00pm Teaching on Three Principal Aspects of the Path (Session 2)

To escape from suffering and find everlasting happiness, it is essential to study and practice the teachings on the Lam Rim (or ‘the graduated path to enlightenment’). An essential feature of the Lam-Rim is its division into three principal aspects: renunciation, bodhichitta and right view.

“The most unbelievable important thing in our life is Lam-Rim. The practice of the three principal aspects of the path is the most important thing. This is the most important, more important than a job, money, or anything else in our life. It is the most important thing.” – Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

This is an incredible blessing to be able to meet and receive direct teachings from such a highly realised being. All are welcome!

(Please keep in mind that very often Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche teaches beyond the time at which a session is scheduled to conclude.)

The Most Secret Hayagriva Initiation

Mar 25 (Fri) : 4:00pm Most Secret Hayagriva Initiation (Session 1) Registration

Required

Mar 26 (Sat) : 4:00pm Most Secret Hayagriva Initiation (Session 2)

Mar 27 (Sun) : 4:00pm Most Secret Hayagriva Initiation (Session 3)

Venue - Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang, Jalan Utama, 10450 Penang

The Most Secret Hayagriva is a wrathful manifestation of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. The lineage of the practice of Hayagriva comes from Buddha Amitabha and was introduced to Tibet by the Great Indian Guru Padmasambhava who was invited to Tibet by King Trisong Detsen to dispel obstacles to spread the Buddhist teaching in Tibet. The practice of the Most Secret Hayagriva is also an extremely powerful means to remove obstacles caused by spirits which manifest as paralysis and epilepsy, and cure diseases caused by Naga harms such as cancer, leprosy and skin diseases.

The Most Secret Hayagriva Initiation is an initiation of Highest Yoga Tantra. The prerequisites for receiving this initiation and the commitments after having taken this initiation are as follows:

Prerequisites: - Participants must have a good understanding of and familiar with the Lam-Rim. - Participants must not be Shugden/Dolgyal practitioners. - Participants should be prepared to take Refuge in the Three Jewels, take Bodhisattva and Tantric

vows, and to do the Six-Session Guru Yoga daily.

Lifetime Practice Commitments: After having taken this initiation, participants MUST - keep the Bodhisattva and Tantric vows, - do the Six-Session Guru Yoga daily, - recite 1 mala of Hayagriva Mantra daily, and - practise any other commitments that Rinpoche may give during the initiation. (Retreat is highly recommended but not a commitment).

Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche highly recommends this initiation for students working in and very dedicated to the FPMT organisation, especially for center directors.

Those wishing to receive the initiation must register by completing the attached registration form and return it to us thereafter via email at [email protected] by 5 March 2016. Successful registrants will be notified via email within 7 working days from the submission date.

About Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche is the Spiritual Director and co-founder of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) to which Chokyi Gyaltsen Center is affiliated with.

Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche was born in Thami, Nepal, in 1946. At the age of three, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the Lawudo Lama, Lama Kunzang Yeshe, who was one of the most revered lamas in the Lawudo region. At the age of ten, Rinpoche went to Tibet and studied and meditated at Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s monastery near Pagri. He studied there until the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959. Rinpoche then fled Tibet and continued his studies and practice at the Tibetan refugee camp at Buxa Duar, West Bengal, India, where he met Lama Yeshe, who became his principal teacher.

Lama Yeshe and Rinpoche went to Nepal in 1967, and over the next few years built Kopan and Lawudo Monasteries. In 1971, Rinpoche gave the first of the famous annual lam-rim retreat courses which continue at Kopan to this day. In 1974, Lama Yeshe and Rinpoche began traveling the world to teach at the Dharma centers started by their Western students. In 1976, FPMT was established as an official organization. When Lama Yeshe passed away in 1984, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche took over as spiritual director of FPMT which has continued to flourish under his peerless guidance.

Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s vision is vast and includes the proliferation of many charitable and beneficial activities. Rinpoche is utterly dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama wherever and whenever possible.
