Kristian Hatton is a content manager and publisher who applies an exciting do-it-yourself work ethic and a

can-do attitude with anything he focuses on.

He has recently completed his Bachelor of Writing and Publishing at Melbourne Polytechnic College.

Kristian is now ready to have his skills employed.

Skills during the degree were developed specifically as a content manager, with Haarp Media acting as a conduit project.

Haarp Media is a blog about niche electronic music in Melbourne. It has recieved attention as a publication by larger magazines like Vice/Thump.

The blog itself features interviews, events and reviews, and experiments with hosting events and developing magazine spreads in line with the brand.

As a result of hard work and dedication to the brand, Haarp Media captured the attention of record labels and magazines.

Employment was offered contributing content to professional media outlets Retort Records, Cyclic Defrost, Milkbar Magazine and Time Out Magazine.

Responsibilities were writing, designing and sub-editing articles and spreads. Industry-standard skills were assimilated as a result of this experience.

A parallel area of experience has been working as an event organiser for venues and businesses around Melbourne.

Businesses worked with: Laundry Bar, Loop, EFiftyFive, Grumpy’s Green, Bar 303, MyAeon, Yarra House and Section 8. Events were tailored for venue audience and brand. Tasks included design, marketing, booking acts and catering, budgeting, networking, sales and general problem solving.

Kristian Hatton is available for full-time and contract work within writing, publishing, design or content management capacities.
