Located in Bangkok, Thailand, Panya Indra Golf Club is an international golf club that had its existing metal halide field lightings replaced with LED lightings. As a result, 64% energy saving and over 80% illumination improvement were achieved beyond the expectations of the client and its stakeholders.
It consisted of 27 holes of zones A, B, and C (9 holes each), and this project fully replaced the aged metal halide lightings of 18 holes of zones B and C with LED lightings 860 units of 1.1 KW metal halide lamps (including the ballasts) were replaced with 860 units of GigaTera SUFA 400 W LED lamps.
Given that the illumination of the existing lightings did not live up to the standards of the golf club, nighttime play was difficult. As such, the client strongly requested improvements to this problem.
The optics team of GigaTera focused on providing the best solution through precise optical design and analysis based on twice site-collected data.
The LED sports lightings of GigaTera, verified as being excellent, considerably improved the illumination and saved energy, enabling golfers to play at night at the best conditions.
Golfers and officials enthusiastically welcomed and applauded when the new lightings were first lit. This offered a great opportunity to verify once again the excellence of GigaTera LED lighting solution’s technolo-gy and reliability.
