Please Note!!! Synod/Presbytery office is moving to Launceston Pilgrim. After 40 years at 96 Margaret St the Tasmania Synod/Presbytery Office will be moving to Launceston Pilgrim UC in mid November. Due to the sale of the Margaret St property the Presbytery/Synod office has had to look for new accommodation by the 15th December 2017. After conversations with Pilgrim Uniting Church as well as Uniting, the Presbytery Standing Committee decided that Pilgrim is the best short term option for the Synod/ Presbytery office. There is a hope that the co-location of the Synod/ Presbytery office with Uniting and Pilgrim may provide further mission opportunities into the future. It is anticipated that the office will be relocated during the week of the 20th November. Car parking arrangements will be made and we hope to keep our current phone number. More information will follow at a later date.

Praying for the Presbytery This month please remember in your prayers: - Hobart Wesley Uniting Church - Families in our churches, agencies, communities. - Presbytery Ministers in Tasmania - Michelle Cook, Anthea Maynard and Denise Savage.

From the Minister! Matthew 21: v 23—32 “By what authority are you doing these things?” It is a fair enough question. These days you can barely change a light bulb legally without the appropriate certification. Funnily enough, our highly institutionalized organization, the church, which has ordered its life to comply with standards of professionalism and all the mandatory standards of occupational health and safety, put all their faith in a man who can provide no evidence of ever completing a tertiary level of training or even of finishing primary school! By whose authority do we claim to be the church and do the ministry of God? By Jesus? Is He qualified? Well let’s look at his resume, the New Testament. Let’s look at His primary referee, God, who says “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased”. Why not read some of His secondary references, Paul and Peter. By what authority do we do these things? In Jesus who says all authority on heaven and earth has been given to Him. The authority of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. You have got to take this guy seriously. After all, He tells his fledgling church about these things after he’d been dead for three days! Need any further qualifications? Rev Michael Duke

Today is Rev Michael Duke’s first Sunday leading worship at Kingston. We welcome Michael and his wife Sally and look forward to their ministry among us.
