King Henry VIII ORIENTEERING Fixtures 2013 – 2104 Winter Term Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which involves walking or running whilst navigating around a course using a detailed map and a compass. The aim is to navigate in sequence between a set of control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It is a sport in which King Henry VIII School enjoys great success, with many podium places at the annual school events, taking place in October/November and May. Not only do our students do well at school level, but they have also achieved A minibus will be travelling to all the listed events, unless stated, please check the orienteering notice board between Outdoor Education and C4 for departure times and sign up sheet. Cost is £3.00 per event unless stated. Please bring a change of shoes (for the minibus)/warm clothes/watch/ waterproofs/snacks and a drink for after your run, you may be waiting for people to finish! The aim is to navigate in sequence between a set of control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time.It is a sport in which King Henry VIII School enjoys great success, with many podium places at the annual school events, taking place in October/November and May. Not only do our students do well at school level, but they have also achieved other national and international successes throughout the years.Through orienteering you will get to know many other students at school, including those from other year groups.

A minibus will be travelling to all the listed events, unless stated, please check the orienteering notice board between Outdoor Education and C4 for departure times and sign up sheet.
