III. PLATFORM
Service + Solidarity = Empowerment
1) Main Point:Giving back the stake of the presidents in all cluster activities
Details:Everything that MCA does should be for the orgs represented by the presidents. And in order to serve the organizations well and ensure their welfare, we have to give the presidents more stake on everything MCA.
- At the beginning of the year, we ask the presidents what the orgs need, what problems need to be addressed, and what activities they want done during the course of the year. This would include projects and events.
- Start levelling off the actions needed to address the needs of the orgs. - Constant updating and consultations should be regularly done through the course of the year. They should
know about and have a say about everything concerning the cluster and their organizations.
2) Main Point: Encourage collaboration and integration
Details:It is through collaboration and integration that the organizations can support each other with projects and other endeavours.
- Encourage bonding with the presidents and EBs of each organization. This would be a good way for all the organizations’ leaders to understand each other more. The closer they are and the more they understand about each organization, the more willing they are to support and help each other.
- IC with the presidents regularly, make them feel that we are there and we care. We want to know what’s happening with their orgs and how we could help should any problems arise.
- If the presidents would allow it, we can have a cluster-wide project that could aim to acquaint MCA members with each other.
3) Main Point: System reformat
Details: In order to have sustainable and consistent progress, a review of the CIP should be done.
- Establish how often presidents would meet, the protocols in updating and consultations.- Go through each of the processes, such as the processes on going through managing cluster events, a
system of core teams, and the like.- Make sure that the new processes are not imposed, since presidents will take part in reformatting the
systems to tailor-fit them according to their needs.
4) Main Point: Representation and Initiative efforts
Details: - Continue to represent the organizations in other departments such as APO and OSA- Make arrangements with the Communication and Fine Arts Departments for the use of their facilities- Build relationships with bloggers and artists so as to build a network of contacts that the organizations can
tap into.
