Sustainable and environmentally consciousWe use specially selected sustainable pine from northern Scandinavia, which grows slowly in difficult climatic conditions. This creates a strong wood that is very well suited to making our quality furniture. Our buyers check the trunks on site. When we produce our furniture in Denmark, we deliberately do not use acids to cure the wood sooner. It is finished with environmentally friendly varnishes and stains that are water-based.

This is why Life Time received an environmental award for extraordinary service from Grøn Netværk, the association to encourage responsible and environmentally conscious business, back in 2004.

Safe and stable structuresLife Time Original furniture remains sturdy and stable for many years, even when it is converted. Its well thought out and solid construction means that it will last kids for many years. Life Time Original furniture also meets the highest safety requirements, often exceeding the legal standard. For example, the vertical edge of our high-rise sleeper is at least 35cm. Our beds are also extensively tested by TÜV, a strict testing authority.

Quality guarantee / Converting guaranteeWe make all our Life Time Original furniture in-house. Our expert furniture makers and wood workers have very advanced equipment. This enables us to monitor the quality of our products closely. This means we are able to provide a guarantee of no less than five years on the construction of our furniture. Also we provide a convert guarantee of 5 years fot our Life Time Original bedsystem. Quality remains our focus in the long term, even after the furniture has left our workshop.

What to look for when you buy a bed

• Will it be a loft bed? Give it a good shake. Is it stable enough? Even if there’s a bit of wrestling going on?

• Are there screws or nuts sticking out? Is the wood rough? Does it splinter easily? Is that kind of bed really right for your child?

• Can you expand the bed later on, or vary it? Or does your child only grow standing up?

• Is the bed easy to assemble without too many complicated screws? Or have you had good experiences with the bungalow tent?

• Is the bed available in standard sizes only or are there other options? After all, you don’t have a standard child, right?

Whitewash is a finish for pine that looks very attractive. It’s good to know, however, that whitewash is more sensitive to dirt than for instance a layer of varnish. A varnished bed can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth, but that always takes away some of the colour with whitewash. We supply a standard maintenance set with every white-washed basic bed.
