Evaluating the effects of manure
and different water application
regimes on growth and yield of
kales
This study will help to evaluate effect of
manure and different water application
regimes on growth and yield of kales.Leaf
size, plant size and yield weight of kales in 6
plots with manure will be compared with
that from 6 plots without
2 plots with manure and 2 plots without will
be irrigated at the same rate. Water
application regimes to be tested are; 20
mins/day, 40 mins/2 days and 60 mins/3 days
to help evaluate growth at different stages and
yield in different plots.
Data on leaf length, leaf width and plant height will
be taken every week to determine which plots have
the highest growth rate. During harvest,
experimental harvested area, number of
experimental plants, experimental weight, total
weight of the whole plot, number of marketable
leaves(from experimental plants) and number of
non-marketable leaves(from experimental plants)
will be taken from each plot for comparison
The expected outcomes are; manure + 20
min/day, manure + 40 min/2 days, manure +
1hr/3 days or no manure + 20 min/day, no
manure + 40 min/2 days, no manure + 1hr/3
days.
