CENTER MORICHES ALUMNI OF DISTINCTION HONORS Kevin Osborne Kevin Osborne began his music education here in Center Moriches playing trombone in the bands and singing lead roles in the Drama Club musicals. Following High School graduation he attended the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston from which he graduated in 1985. Soon after graduation Kevin launched his multifaceted career as a singer, trombonist, music arranger and band leader excelling in many aspects of the entertainment industry. Kevin has performed, recorded and toured with some of the biggest names in the music business including: David Bowie, Frankie Valli, Carly Simon, Aretha Franklin, Bon Jovi, Jane Olivor, Debbie Friedman, Bobby McFerrin, Tom Jones, George Benson, 10,000 Maniacs, The Rascals, The Monkees, Patti Austin, James Ingram, Al Jarreau, Ashford & Simpson and most recently Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and Sting. Kevin was an original cast member of the on-stage band for the Tony Award winning musical Movin Out during its entire Broadway run. As a jingle singer, Kevin can be heard on national commercials for American Express, Wendy’s, Toys “R” Us, Nissan, Toyota, Mountain Dew, Mastercard, Pepsi, Dunkin’ Donuts, Lifesavers and even the Jolly Green Giant. Television appearances include: the 2003 Tony Awards, Late Night with David Letterman, Live with Regis & Kelly, Arsenio Hall and the opening ceremonies for the U.S. Open as well as vocals for the NBC show Smash. Live performances also include Billy Joel’s The Last Play at Shea and soloist at Radio City Music Hall. On film Kevin appeared in Julia Roberts’ movie Mona Lisa Smile as a band leader and had a cameo appearance in The Other Guys. He can be heard on the soundtracks for A Walk to Remember, Nine, The Stepford Wives, Mission to Mars, The Informant and Joe’s Apartment. The Kevin Osborne Band is in high demand at New York City’s exclusive hotels and clubs and at weddings and corporate events throughout the Metropolitan area. Kevin also focuses his energy reaching out beyond the lights of Broadway and Hollywood screens to support the efforts of 9/11 responders, and bringing songs from the heart to veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, fundraising for children with autism and for the Actors Fund and locally at Backyard Theatre benefit performances. While Kevin continues to perform nationally with the Kevin Osborne Band and is dedicated to his music career he is most passionate about his family.
