INTRODUCTION
Finding an individual voice in a world so packed with images is one of the hardest things to do, so it is such a pleasure to introduce so many individual voices showing so much vibrant and exciting work. The work in the exhibition is from students who joined us just nine months ago and have progressed though our full time National Diploma in Photography. Photography has changed so much in the last decade with the pro-liferation of smartphones and ‘foolproof’ cameras making it seem a more democratic but homogenised medium. So, to present something different, photographers must trawl back and forth through the history of photographic techniques and couple this to original and creative ideas grounded in contex-tual theory and still connect this to modern digital techniques. The work shown here clearly meets that criteria. You will be able to link to the students individual websites and blogs directly from the catalogue to see more.
