WELCOME

Dear Friends, Welcome to Convivium 2017! Thank you for coming together for our 25th Annual Convivium Dinner Auction as we celebrate our seminarians and the priesthood this evening. At Kenrick-Glennon Seminary our end goal is a holy, healthy, joy-filled parish priest. Your future priests are being formed to go out and bring Christ to others. That means forming a man humanly, spiritually, intellectually, and pastorally for life and ministry in the parish. I am filled with gratitude for people like you who help ensure that our seminarians are encouraged and that they receive the formation and education they need to enter into a lifetime of loving ministry as priests. Thank you for your support of the 25th Annual Convivium Dinner Auction. I ask that you continue to pray for our seminarians and all who serve in the important mission of priestly formation. Please be assured of my prayers and the prayers of our seminary community. In Christ,

Father James Mason President-Rector

TAX INFORMATION

Kenrick-Glennon Seminary is a tax-exempt charitable organization described in Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). Guests are encouraged to seek the advice of their tax advisors as to the accuracy of the information provided and the tax consequences of their financial participation in the Convivium Dinner Auction.

The Auction Committee believes that $90 per ticket is a reasonable estimate of the fair market value of the dinner, drinks, and services provided.

When a guest purchases an auction item for a price greater than the amount reflected as the fair market value listed on the paid receipt, he or she may claim the difference between the purchase price and the fair market value as a charitable contribution.

When a guest purchases an item for a price that is less than or equal to a value listed on his or her paid receipt, the transaction is regarded as simply a purchase - not a charitable contribution - and no portion of the purchase price qualifies as a charitable contribution.

All cash gifts to Kenrick-Glennon Seminary qualify as charitable contributions as long as the donor receives no direct benefit in return. The seminary will make every effort to provide an acknowledgement for cash and non-cash gifts.

2017 FUND-A-NEED Spiritual Formation Retreat Program

Those who desire to share the mission of Christ, as the apostles did, must first acquire the listening and learning heart of disciples. It is in this spirit that each seminarian participates in an annual silent, directed retreat. Our deacons in their final year of formation and education encounter Christ in a new way during the annual Holy Land Retreat and Pilgrimage. While walking in the footsteps of Jesus, Scripture comes alive for the seminarian. His everyday prayer and everyday preaching are more fruitful as he serves the people as a future parish priest.

We invite you to sponsor a seminarian on his annual retreat. The total cost of the Holy Land Retreat and Pilgrimage is expected to cost an average of $93,000 for each of the next three years. The anticipated annual cost for the other retreats is $90,000. Donations to the Fund-A-Need will primarily support the Holy Land Retreat and Pilgrimage. If sufficient gifts are received, contributions may also be used for the general retreat program. Please raise your bid number for the level you wish to pledge. If you wish to make a private donation, you may do so on the mobile bidding site. Thank you for your consideration of this important endeavor!

KENRICK-GLENNON SEMINARY

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of God the Father, we seek each seminarian’s configuration to the Heart of Jesus Christ, High Priest and

Shepherd, so that he can shepherd whole-heartedly with Christ’s pastoral charity.

Founded in 1818, our seminary has a rich living history as a place of faith, learning and fraternity. Kenrick-Glennon Seminary serves many dioceses and several religious orders and continues a rich heritage of philosophical, theological, and priestly pastoral service while cognizant of the challenges of contemporary evangelization. Our seminary is comprised of Kenrick School of Theology, a four-year graduate program that prepares men for ordination to the priesthood; a two-year Pre-Theology program; and Cardinal Glennon College, a four-year undergraduate program that prepares men for ordination studies.
