RE: Nomination for IIIC membership of Professor Johnny Moore FRCOphth, PhD, MD

Dear Nominating Committee, I would like to propose Prof. Johnny Moore as a new member of the Inter-national Intra-ocular Implant Club (IIIC). He is currently Medical Director at the Cathedral Eye Clinic, Belfast, Northern Ireland and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Mater Hospital, Belfast Trust. I got to know Johnny in our search to find a new European Associate Editor for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Johnny was one of the candidates and greatly impressed me with his drive and vision. He specialises in ocular surface reconstruction, laser refractive surgery, cataract and other intraocular eye surgery and, as his CV details, he has completed in the region 13,000 procedures making him a highly experien-ced clincian. In addition to performing surgery, Johnny is involved in tea-ching, training and research. He helps run an online PGDip/MSc Cataract and Refractive Surgery course through the University of Ulster and collabo-rates with a number of researchers at the University. He has over 70 pu-blished journal articles and regularly presents at international conferences. On a personal note, Johnny appears to be straightforward and hardworking with a real interest in IOL research. I believe that Johnny meets the criteria for membership and recommend him to the membership and Executive Committee. Yours sincerely,
