Locally, Sioux City & Iowa gaming taxes contributed $1.3 million to the Orpheum Theater. And a $21 million Vision Iowa Grant was awarded to Sioux City which is funded solely by Iowa Gaming Taxes. MISSOURI RIVER HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT, INC.—1.7M MRHD donated $1.7 million in grants, special gifts and projects to Woodbury County organizations in 2009. SIOUX CITY—2M Through gaming taxes, Argosy Casino has contributed $3 million to the Perry Creek Project. Furthermore, Argosy’s tax revenues have contributed over $1 million to improving fire department properties including a new firehouse on Fairmont Street. The Tyson Event Center & auditorium was completed in 2004. The event center received $7 million in gaming taxes from Argosy. This does not include the $21 million River’s Edge grant money received through the Vision Iowa Fund. Vision Iowa funding is supported through gaming taxes. WOODBURY COUNTY—359K Funds were used for many projects in Woodbury County.
