Kateryna Bilonog believes that sustainable energy is one of the most important factors for success for our Earth’s future. As the costs of fossil fuels steadily rises, sustainable energy sources such as natural gas and solar are becoming more prevalent. Government subsidies allow for an easier integration of this green energy in local businesses and homes. Kateryna Bilonog conducted research on a global scale to find that government support is the most significant factor for green innovation. Organizations such as the EU are boosting their cooperation with developing countries around the world. The EU also plans to allocate more than 3 billion euro worth of grants to support sustainable energy projects in continents such as Africa. This global initiative will ultimately help drive down the costs of solar and natural gas. It is estimated that by 2018, solar energy could be economically feasible for large cities. Although there will be many more decades until this change impacts our nation’s dependency on oil, there is hope that one day oil will become obsolete.
