Disneyworld: Walt Disney had a vision of a place where children and adults could have fun together. The more Walt dreamed of a "magical park," the more imaginative and elaborate it became. Construction for Disneyland began on July 21, 1954, a meager 12 months before the park was supposed to open. From that day forward Walt Disney’s life would never be the same. Walt Stayed close to every detail of the Park's Construction, and he visited the site in Anaheim several times a week. Progress went surprisingly well despite difficult obstacles.

Bit by bit Disneyland got ready for opening day. The staff worked around the clock to get ready. Everything finally seemed to be coming together. Walt Disney’s dream had come true and Disneyland was ready to open. Opening day, was a day to remember. Six thousand invitations to the grand opening had be sent. By mid-afternoon over 28,000 ticket holders were storming the Magic Kingdom. Most of the tickets were counterfeit.

Walt Disney was 53 when he dedicated Disneyland Park. It was a memorable ceremony. There in Town Square, Walt could look around and see the fulfillment of his hopes, dreams, and ambitions in the form of a spectacular entertainment kingdom.Beside the terrible opening day conditions, the park did eventually pick up. By 1965, ten years after opening day, 50 Million visitors had come through the gates.Even though Walt Disney wasn't able to see how his park and his company prospered and grew into the 21st Century, his legacy still lives on with us. Throughout Disneyland and throughout the entire world, he will always be there.

Richard Nixon: Richard Nixon was born on January 9, 1913 in Yorba Linda, California. He was the

37 President of the United States. In 1971-2 the Nixon administration dramatically improved relations in China, Nixon made a public visit in February, 1972. In 1973 Nixon was praised for ending American involvement in the Vietnam War. Richard Nixon died on April 22, 1994, in New York, NY.

Nixon was an introvert in the extroverted calling of a politician. Richard Nixon’s body seemed out of sync with his motions when he talked it was like the soundtrack of a movie that was either too fast or too slow. He would count the points on his fingers, his arms outstretched in a victory sign, or sweeping around his body. Nixon forced himself to engage, sometimes even to excel , in the exhibitionary skills of campaigning over a political career that lasted nearly thirty years. Nixon served twice as president. Served in both houses of Congress and as Vice president. Nixon was the only American other that FDR to be nominated for a major party on five national tickets.

Early in Nixon’s life seemed to have a lot of what others called “Have-nots”. Nixon resigned was almost impeached over the Watergate Scandal. Men were found to be aiding in Nixon’s re-election campaign. When Nixon decided to run for president the second time he believed that the democrats were torn over the the issue of the Vietnam War. Nixon never expected the election to be so close against the democratic party.

Marilyn Monroe:

Marilyn Monroe was one of the most celebrated actresses, she was born on June 1st, 1926. When she was two she was almost smothered to death, nearly raped at six by her foster parents. At nine LA Orphans' Home paid her a nickel a month for kitchen work while taking back a penny every Sunday for church. At sixteen she worked in an aircraft plant and married a man she called Daddy; he went into the military, she modeled, they divorced in 1946.

Marilyn Monroe's day began with threatening phone calls. Marilyn began to model swimsuits and bleached her hair blonde. Various shots made their way into the public eye, where some were eventually seen by RKO Pictures head Howard Hughes. He offered Marilyn a screen test, but an agent suggested that 20th Century-Fox would be the better choice for her, since it was a much bigger and more prestigious studio. She was signed to a contract at $125 per week for a six-month period and that was increased by $25 per week at the end of that time when her contract was lengthened.

Her considerable comedic talent and contained what is arguably one of the most memorable moments in cinema history: Marilyn standing above a subway grating and the wind from a passing subway blowing her white dress up. Her absenteeism caused delay after delay in production, resulting in her being fired from the production in June of that year. It looked as though her career was finished. Studios just didn't want to take a chance on her because it would cost them thousands of dollars in delays. She was only 36. Marilyn Monroe made only 30 movies in her lifetime, but her legendary status and mysticism will remain with film history forever.

Princess Grace: Princess Grace (Grace Kelly) was born on November 12, 1929. She desired was

to become an actress which she had decided on at an early age. After her high school graduation in 1947, Grace struck out on her own, heading to New York's bright lights to try her luck there. Grace worked some as a model and made her debut on Broadway in 1949. She also made a brief foray into the infant medium of television. Not content with the work in New York, Grace moved to Southern California for the more prestigious part of acting.

Grace was voted the 12th greatest Movie star of all time by Premiere Magazine. When she was 27 she married Prince Rainier of Monaco. He needed a wife, because with no heir to the throne, Monaco would again be part of France, after his death, and its citizens would have to pay French taxes. And Kelly thought it was time for her to select a husband, one who would finally meet with her parents' approval. Her biographers show that the life of a princess was not exactly living happily ever after. Old friends from Philadelphia as well as people she had known in Hollywood reported how glad she was to talk about her life in America and to be speaking English.

On September 14, 1982 Princess Grace died on a cliff road she had known so well since her first visit to the Riviera, there was the fatal crash. She was just 52 years old when she died. When she married Prince Rainier of Monaco she gave up her career in acting. For the rest of her life, she was to remain in the news with her marriage and her three children.

Ronald Reagan:

Reagan was born on February 6, 1911, he was the oldest president elected as president at the age of 69. At 93 Reagan lived longer than any other president so far. In the 1980’s election reagan won is 46 out of 50 states. The only states he did not win in were Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, or West Virginia. He also did not win the District of Columbia. In the 1984 election, Reagan won in 49 out of 50 states. The only state he did not win in was Minnesota, and he lost by a very small margin there. He also did not win the District of Columbia.

Only 69 days after Reagan took office he was shot by a would-be assassin, but

quickly recovered and returned to duty. His grace and wit during the dangerous incident caused his popularity to soar. He embarked upon a course of cutting taxes and Government expenditures, refusing to deviate from it when the strengthening of defense forces led to a large deficit.

A renewal of national self-confidence by 1984 helped Reagan and Bush win a second term with an unprecedented number of electoral votes.Overall, the Reagan years saw a restoration of prosperity, and the goal of peace through strength seemed to be within grasp. Reagan died on July 5, 2004, he fought for what he believed in and never gave up even when he was shot.
