Introducing the Tree of Life

Page 4: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

This is how we are ‘made in God’s image’

Page 5: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

We are children of God

Most religions treat us as grandchildren – with God’s word disseminated by priests or scribes and religion being the parent.

But the mystical path is direct communion with God (only called ‘Father’ since Jesus’ time). He was trying to point out the direct relationship for all of us.

However, as he also said ‘daughter your faith has healed you,’ we tend to assume the relationship is more remote.

So what is Kabbalah and how can it help?

• Ancient mystical wisdom. May predate Judaism.

• Based on observation of Universal patterns• Creates balance – above and below and side

to side, masculine and feminine.• An oral tradition – updates with the age (or

should).• Only complete Western mystical tradition.

Kabbal—Hebrew for ‘receive’

This is the teaching that underpins the Torah and the New Testament.

In Biblical days very few people read or wrote and mystical teaching was passed down by word of mouth—and increased and updated in each generation

Any written teaching was to preserve the tradition but it would become crystalised very soon—locked into its own time.

Merkabah

Before it became Kabbalah (Cabala, Qabbalah) it was known as Merkabah ‘chariot riding’ from the story in the Book of Ezekiel.

All chariot riders were expected to go internally to experience the Divine within themselves and the greater pattern of life (God the immanent and transcendent).

Logos

The first words of Genesis say, ‘In the beginning, the Elohim created the heaven and the earth.’

The Gospel of John (the most mystical and least literal of the four Gospels) begins ‘In the beginning was the Logos.’

This does not just mean ‘Word.’ It means ‘the unfolding of existence/creation.’ The correct translation of phrase ‘the word was God’ is ‘the logos [to be] Divine. It is not past tense, it is eternal.

So, in truth it is: ‘In the beginning (the eternal Now) the unfolding of creation is to be.’

The most important things that Jesus never said:

Never once did he say, ‘it is not God’s will that you be healed.’

Never once did he say, ‘sorry, this is incurable.’Never once did he say, ‘perhaps it’s your time to

die.’

That’s because he had direct access to Logos.

Page 11: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Jesus did say:

Truly, truly, (Amen, Amen), I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”

All the way through John he is speaking as the Christ Consciousness, not as the persona we know as Jesus of Nazareth.

He is treating us like a brother or sister who will continue the healing work when he has moved on. We will be able to access the Christ consciousness—the logos—ourselves.

Page 12: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

So in the oral tradition of his time

... Which he certainly knew (he was never a Christian) are the secrets of the Logos the eternal creative force of healing.

And Kabbalah carries some important information about just that. It also works in perfect parallel with all other traditions.

Kabbalah is the root of...

• Biblical teaching• Modern Paganism• Tarot• Astrology• Human Design• Enneagram

Page 14: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Kabbalah teaches:

• The true relationship between God, humanity, and the universe.

• That there is a divine being, neither male nor female, that has 10 primary aspects called sephirot which are represented in the Tree of Life.

• That the supreme being created the universe through a series of those 10 aspects that descended through various levels until creation was fully realized.

A more modern interpretation:

Love

Laughter

Harmony

Peace

Page 19: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

“Love is the face and body of the Universe. It is the connective tissue of the universe, the stuff of which we are made. Love is the experience of being whole and connected with Universal

Divinity.“All suffering is caused by the illusion of

separateness, which generates fear and self-hatred, which eventually causes illness.

“You are the master of your life. You can do much more than you thought you could,

including cure yourself of a terminal disease” Barbara Ann Brennan.

We are the kiss between heaven and earth

• To be truly ‘Christed’ all a human needs to understand (at a very deep level) is that he or she is born of the Mother (Earth) and conceived of the Father (Spirit).

• Once you are that kiss there is no dis-ease because all is in perfect balance.

• But it can be a challenging journey of unraveling.

Page 21: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

The path to healing is always

To let go and let God.

But what if we don’t believe in a loving God who will actually heal us physically?

What if ‘our’ God is heartless and doesn’t care if we live or die ... Or ‘helpful’ people tell us that dying is healing too.

Page 22: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

We are going to work with the seven levels

Page 23: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

These seven levels contain:

Our life-forceOur death-wish(es)Our spiritual dis-easeOur psychological dis-easeOur physical dis-easeSubconscious and unconsciousAnd seven different beliefs in

God. Only a few of which can and will heal us.

Page 24: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Seven views of GodObviously there are more ... But these are the ones

that tend to be locked in the chakras by training:• God the Judge• God the Almighty • God the Present/Absent• God the Abandoner/Redeemer• God the Healer• God of Miracles• God of Unity

Page 25: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Why doe we need dis-ease?

We’ll look at:• Dis-ease at the soul level• Dis-ease as empowerment• Dis-ease as excuse• Dis-ease as karma (what you put out, you get

back on any level• Dis-ease as about learning to accept help

Page 26: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

There is also the Death Wish

This functions at three levels in the psyche, two of which will almost certainly—long term—lead to chronic dis-ease and actual death.

These death wishes eat Spirit and strength. And we need that Spirit and strength to heal.

This too can be healed. We learn how to call our soul/spirit back.

Page 27: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Each week we will focus on a different level

But to start with, consider:The body is programmed to heal—even if you

are dying of cancer, a cut will heal.It needs spirit/energy to heal. Therefore, if there

is sickness then you must give it that energy. If there is sickness your spirit/energy is

compromised. If this is healed, the body has space and energy to heal.

Page 28: Kabbalah and Healing Part One Maggy Whitehouse 2014

Stage one of healing

Homework:Begin to harvest energy. If you want to heal in

mind, body or spirit, you need to rest more and to do more things that are both

expending and harvesting energy simultaneously—creative things that bring joy.Rest before you are tired. If you are already

tired, try to rest five minutes in every hour.
