Rough Cut Feedback

The feedback we got for our rough cut was that the genre was clear and the green tint throughout the film trailer was an obvious representation of jealousy. The trailer was enjoyed overall and was seen to sell the brand as a whole. The suggested improvement was to make the trailer longer from 0:45 seconds to 1 minute.

Survey Monkey FeedbackThe feedback from the survey was mostly

positive about our brand. It was expressed that the soundtrack was good and effective. Also the poster, magazine and trailer all promote the brand and make people want to go see the final product. The survey also confirmed that the green tint was understood and approved of. However it was not 100% clear that the poster and trailer were interlinked and of the same brand.

Overall our storyboard received positive feedback from our peers and teacher. Our teacher gave us some small changes that could be made to improve the trailer as a whole:

In the storyboard we had a shot of the male character walking behind the female character. We decided to change this shot to him looking down on her as she walks through a tunnel. This was due to the fact that it was a more unique shot and it was easier to shoot.

The only change we made to this shot was the means of viewing the video. Instead of a computer we changed it to a smart phone. This is because it seemed more realistic in the modern world.

We changed the look of the last shot by having the female character side on and the hand coming over her mouth instead of her eyes. We did this because our teacher said it looked better and was more effective.

In the feedback we got a very positive response for this shot so we increased the screen time. We also used point-of-view shots to make the shot more interesting.

Soundtrack ChangesWe were given the suggestion that the music needed to have

a smoother transition at the beginning and a climax at the end.

In response to this feedback we put a small sound effect over the transition part of the soundtrack. This masked the

transition and also added to the ‘creepy’ feel of the trailers genre. We also added a generic climaxing string sound at the end to make the trailer more captivating for the viewer and

keep them on the edge of their seat. These two changes made the trailer more enjoyable to the viewers and make them want

to see the full movie.
