JURASSICA Theme Park ProjectBRINGING NATURE INTO OUR CITIESJURASSICA is a nature-based theme park designed to showcase a large living collection of the world’s most natural ecosystems of animals, plants and their habitats.

The core principal behind JURASSICA is to bring these wild places into our cities and make them accessible to everyone. While existing ‘green spaces’ such as parks, botanic gardens and zoos already provide some respite from the urban environment, these spaces remain quintessentially man-made. Our vision is for JURASSICA Theme Park to faithfully recreate nature and its raw beauty. JURASSICA Theme Park will entertain, educate and promote conservation.

The JURASSICA name was chosen for the project as the Jurassic era is a familiar time to almost all people, particularly the younger generation. This huge public profile has massive potential to gain a much larger audience and stir an interest in nature and conservation than has traditionally been achieved by places such as zoos and botanic gardens. The Jurassic theme also has the capacity to capture the imagination of a much younger age group and plant a seed

of appreciation in nature and encourage environmental participation.

The JURASSICA Theme Park Project is a venture than can be established at any suitable site from compact to expansive locations. Spectacular botanical collections of primitive plant species, aquatic and terrestrial animal exhibits will dominate the presentations.

Far North Queensland is a natural choice of location for the first JURASSICA Theme Park Project. The Cairns region has land resources close to the city and its services, the Great Barrier Reef and rainforest destinations and is affordable by normal standards for a significant theme park venture. High volume tourist movements and visitations, linked with the increasing development of the China inbound tourist market and Australia’s largest regional international airport will bring a new wave of tourist interest to existing and proposed hotel developments in Far North Queensland. Unlike many larger cities, Cairns has a large reserve of saleable land located in its hinterland that is close to the airport.

a theme park operation was chosen as this attracts greater interest & will be more appealing to all ages. By attracting more people, there is an increased opportunity to

capture the imagination & help convey JURASSICA’s conservational message

EducateThe JURASSICA Theme Park will have a significant imbedded education factor in all its aspects of presentation, entertainment and displays. The exhibits and interpretive programs are carefully crafted with an education message and theme that will add to the visitor experience, specifically for children, and certainly for adults.

Interactive displays, large signs and hi-tech audio visuals encourage visitors to take part in the learning experience.

For visitors to take in everything along the trail, there is a wealth of information and for those who simply want to meander through the exhibits it is impossible to walk away without learning something about the natural environment.

JURASSICA Theme Park is a large living classroom that will provide an opportunity to open up a whole new world of adventure, curiosity and learning.

EntertainZoos and botanical gardens represent a growing and economical entertainment experience for many people. With world class themed habitat and animal displays, JURASSICA Theme Park will provide a portal to the past and for many, an introduction to plants and animals not often seen in public displays.

Electronic information stations, activities, themed play areas and an amphitheatre are designed to entertain and educate. We will help design and deliver specific marketing and promotions programs in product and timetables to suit seasonality, holiday and vacation periods.

JURASSICA Theme Park has something to offer everyone. Kids to older visitors can enjoy the format of the JURASSICA story and its entertaining value when surrounded by exotic and wild habitats, plants and animals.

ConserveJURASSICA Theme Park is dedicated to the protection and conservation of threatened wildlife and habitats through direct action and external programs.

The exhibits at JURASSICA Theme Park will be realistic and believable. They are designed specifically for the species they are to exhibit. Natural surroundings and terrain typical of native habitat will be developed with experienced skills and the use of appropriate technology to support the development of natural growth and behaviour of flora and fauna.

JURASSICA Theme Park aims to build up and display sustainable populations of exhibition stock, as well as play an active role in wildlife health, habitat conservation, restoration biology, and conservation education. This is an ambition that can be achieved in a singular or collaborative way with other research and development organisations, groups and individuals.

Situated midway along Jurassica’s primeval journey, the café and its

large outdoor deck gives you a chance to take a breather while overlooking

one of the parks large lagoons. A viewing point above the café provides an opportunity to take in the scenery of the park as a whole, highlighting

the different bioregions, each with its own unique animals and plants.

Leaving the café, traverse the 5 metre high waterfall crossing and enter into the land of lagoons. Here the walkway separates the lagoons and takes you beneath the surface, where freshwater crocodiles and giant turtles wait for a meal to swim by. Ancient fishes glide through the waters above in search of insects, while semi aquatic lizards bask by the water’s edge.

From the cool waters of the lagoons to the scorching desert, the Arid Zone is where plants and animals

have adapted to life against the sun, rocks and sand. Venomous snakes and desert lizards move sedately through

these dry arid lands. Pachypodium palms provide little shade with their thorn covered trunks, rising proudly

above the aloes and cacti which thrive in this parched terrain.

After the heat of the arid zone, cool down in the shade of the temperate forest. The ancient pines found here

do not form such a dense canopy and mosses and ferns thrive on the sun dappled floor, creating a lush

understorey. As you walk through the cool misty air, you will encounter giant

echidnas, moisture loving frogs and Southern Angle-headed Dragons.

The mighty Volcano stands as the most dominant feature of the park

and its pathways take you to life in this volatile land. Scaling it’s sides you will reach the highest point in Jurassica.

Beneath the heat at its centre, prehistoric life ekes out an existence

in complete darkness. Calling this place their home, giant invertebrates reminisce a time when their oversized

ancestors ruled the World.

Reflect on your journey at the amphitheatre. A short film recaps

the amazing history of the plants and animals of our world and delivers a message that humans have the

responsibility to preserve the planets’ natural habitats. This message is intended to ensure that today’s

incredible flora and fauna, which have evolved over millions of years, remain

protected and enjoyed by future generations.

Entering into the park’s main forecourt you are immediately

captured by the large curved glass aquarium, commanding boulders and towering stands of cycads and ferns. A glimpse of the mountain range and

volcano beckons from behind this initial taste of Jurassica, encouraging

you to begin your journey into the prehistoric past.

All journeys must have a beginning and Cycad Valley transports you

immediately into the prehistoric past with its stands of imposing cycads

growing up out of the boulder strewn landscape. Iguanas and other lizard

species forage through this primeval environment, providing a glimpse of the days when their dinosaur

ancestors ruled the land.

The ancient cycads give way to the open grasslands and sun drenched

plains of the savannah. In this treeless landscape you will encounter giant land skinks, armadillos and massive

tortoises, all thriving in these grassy surrounds. Small permanent waterholes provide an oasis for the

most determined and adaptable aquatic animals and plants.

The rising waters transform the savannah into a primordial swamp

where grasses are replaced by reeds and bulrushes while carnivorous

plants capture insect prey. Amphibian species, including the giant Bullfrog, along with Alligators and armoured Gars rise to the surface of the warm shallow waters taking gulps of air to

fill their primitive lungs.

In the steamy tropical rainforest you will encounter towering Kauri pines

and snaking Liana vines which create a complex canopy overhead. Primitive

mammals forage among the thick, damp leaf litter of the rainforest floor. Leaf-tailed geckos and forest dragons camouflage perfectly against the tree trunks, revealing themselves only to

the most eagle-eyed observer.

In the Aqua Dome, aquarium displays bring you up close and personal with

primitive fishes and other aquatic inhabitants from around the world. From fiercely armoured catfish and monstrous snapping turtles to the

awesome Arapaima and freshwater sawfish, the Aqua Dome gives a taste

of underwater life in prehistoric times.

JURASSICAInvestment PackageThe JURASSICA Theme Park Project has a well-designed economic package for investors. It has been carefully and thoughtfully planned as a business opportunity for a significant eco- parkland zone that will have crafted and customised exhibits of very specific flora and fauna that can be related to the Jurassic age.

The living exhibits (all flora and fauna) will be devised, designed and supplied to suit the location of the Park. This involves a high degree of animal husbandry, botanical skills and expertise which are available for the development of the venture by a team of people who are specialists in their field. Where highly specialised skills are required, JURASSICA will source the expertise.

Architecture, aquaria design, landscape architecture and construction of infrastructure including exhibits of spectacular hard and soft landscapes and their horticulture, are supported by a team of long term professionals who have worked in these professions for many years and on significant projects.

The JURASSICA Theme Park Investment Package includes detailed and documented operations manuals, plans, intellectual property (licensed use of the JURASSICA brand and its images), provision of contracted skills, expertise and training to the owners for negotiated periods, and access to the exclusive sourcing of plants, animals and related exhibits and materials.

The Jurassica Theme Park Investment Package provides for a flexible approach in how and where the venture is to be established. An appropriate site for the venture is the investor’s prerogative, which will be supported by the Jurassica Theme Park Team to match the investor’s economic and personal ambition in the project.

Business data development, statistics, plans, related visitor predictions and forecasts are part of the full comprehensive Jurassica Theme Park Investment Package and are available upon request.

the Jurassic era is an integral part of this project as it is a much loved & familiar time for most of us, especially the younger generation. This huge public profile gives us the

opportunity to connect to a much larger audience and to encourage an appreciation of nature and to nurture environmental responsibility
