Page 13: Jungle Travels India - North East India

India’s Northeast States, dangling way out on the edge of the map and the national perception, are strictly for explorers who want something different from their India experience. These remote frontier lands, where India, Southeast Asia and Tibet meet, are a collision zone of cultures, climates, landscapes and peoples and are one of Asia’s last great unknowns.   It’s a land of enormous variety where rhinoceros live in swampy grasslands and former head-hunters live in longhouses in the jungle.

And it’s an adventure in the truest sense of the word. Infuriating permits and over-exaggerated safety worries mean the northeast is way off the tourist trail, yet the people are probably the friendliest in India. So with all this on offer, why wait? Don your pith helmet and set forth in search of adventure.

sWe understand that traveling through the rugged Eastern Himalayan roads in North East India and Bhutan can be grueling at times. Reaching from one destination to another can take hours at a stretch and hence we believe in using the best kind of vehicle most suited to these roads.

Our technical team does a thorough inspection of vehicles before heading out for a tour.

All our drivers are continuously trained and updated on safe driving parameters.

Technical breakdowns cannot be avoided at times, so we have nodal points where our back-up vehicles are

located.

Our vehicles adhere to prescribed speed limits and we have restrictions on daily driving hours.

As far as possible we avoid driving at night.

We educate our vendors & drivers on caring for nature and environment and maintaining driving etiquettes.

We use the best available accommodation everywhere. In North East India , at certain locations , where only limited options are available, we make sure our guests get the best experience with the limited resources available.

Wherever possible we try to track down accommodations with character.

We regularly inspect the accommodation we use, updating our knowledge on existing properties and researching new alternatives.

We regularly conduct health and safety check on all the hotels that we use and our standards are based on international quality check.

We have also selected some home stays with basic standard facilities at certain locations to give authentic local experience to our clients.
