MONDAY WEDNESDAYTUESDAY THURSDAYSUNDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY

Masterpiece Classic: Downton Abbey, Season 1See it from the beginning — Saturdays at 9 p.m. on WETA UK

See public television’s most-watched drama ever — from the very beginning! Starting with Season 1 on June 7, each Saturday night WETA UK reprises Julian Fellowes’ spellbinding tale of the aristocratic Crawley family and staff that serves it through triumphs and tragedies. The fi rst of the four previously broadcast seasons (a fi fth is in the works) opens in 1912, as the Titanic has sunk and taken with it the two male heirs of the fi ctional Yorkshire estate Down-ton Abbey, posing an inheritance crisis. The current lord of the manor has only daughters, albeit marriageable ones; the nearest male relative is a mere middle-class lawyer, but he is a bachelor. As the story unfolds, we learn about Downton’s personalities and intrigues, both upstairs and down. The stellar cast includes Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens (left), among many others.©
