Her beautiful voice, inspired lyrics and intricate, inventive guitar work is a wonder to behold. Her album ‘Courting Autumn’ has been described as ‘a melancholic and mystic masterwork’ (Brilliant Heaven) and ‘A most beautiful album’ (Shirley Collins) Pamela began the year by performing at ‘The Roundhouse’ in London as part of’ Froots’ 30th year anniversary celebration. She is currently working on two new albums.Currently based in Bremen, Germany, HARUKO has already gathered significant praise world wide for her first album ‘Wild Geese’ (Bracken Records) Comparisons with artists such as Joanna Newsom, Vashti Bunyan, Meg Baird, even Kate Bush abound. On the surface Haruko’s simple pastoral songs tell a tale of wide eyed wonder at the beauty of life, but within this is a world of elemental nature and raging forces of passion.

THE MISERABLE RICHADELAIDE’S CAPE (SOLO)7.30pm — 10pm *eArly cUrfew show* £5 entryTHE MISERABLE RICH’s name was inspired by an experience they had playing at the wedding of two ultra — rich aristocrats in Rome.

Cellist/pianist william Calderbank and debonair singer/percussionist James de Malplaquet formed the string quintet intending to produce ‘unusual acoustic modern music’.

The decision was also made to steadfastly adhere to a plan of using the cello and violin as the lead instruments, which has undoubtedly allowed them to mould a unique sound.

Their music has been revered by Bearded magazine as ‘pop music that could soundtrack a nursery rhyme created by Tim Burton’, and seduced the well — tuned ears of NME, Drowned in Sound and Q.

But it’s their own songs that are set for success in 2010 — from the soaring, soulful ‘wall of Arms’ to the warm, Beloved — like ‘Give Me Chills’, Friends Electric are on a mission to move feet and put personality back into dance music.

PORTALS is a new project from Rob Morgan aka Lifting Gear Engineer, based in Swansea. They’re currently working on new tracks and preparing for plenty of live action.
