EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES E-Learning Module on Vitamin D The alarming increase in vitamin D in- sufficiency in the United States has ironically coincided with an increasing recognition that vitamin D likely has a broader contribution to the protection of health and prevention of disease than previously appreciated. This inter- active self-study session will put into perspective the rapid decline in vitamin D status in the United States; the impli- cations of vitamin D insufficiency on skeletal, inflammatory, and metabolic health among the population; and practical guidelines for how to get vita- min D from diet, sun exposure, and sup- plements. Eligible for 1.5 hours of level 2 CPE credit. Available for download at www.eatright.org/cpd/online. ERRATUM There was an error in the June 2013 Journal article, “Position of the Acad- emy of Nutrition and Dietetics: Ethical and Legal Issues in Feeding and Hydra- tion” (pp 828-833). In the author by- lines on page 833, the credential CNSC was mistakenly omitted for Denise Baird Schwartz.
