A Fruitful & Memorable Month

From President

Dear Lions, Leos and Readers,

WWelcome to the 3rd issue of external Jukebox. This will be the last issue of external Jukebox for Fiscal Year 2013-2014. This indicates that for few more months, my term as the Club President will be handed over. Over the months, everything would not be possible without the support from my fellow BOD and fellow Leos. Other than that, special thanks to our Editors Team for their tremendous jobjob on doing our club's newsletter. I would like to express my greatest gratitude to all of them.

April has been a fruitful and memorable month for Leo Club of Penang (City). We are proud to be part of the organizers for our Lion-Leo Joint Project, 24 Festive Drum Spectacular, together with Sponsoring Lions Club of Penang (Host), Loud and GBBM. It was a successful one as we have managed to raised a total of RM18,000.

Besides that, we have officially visited our Sister Club, Leo Club of Medan Spirit in Indonesia, District 307 A2. It was an awesome trip for all of us. Other than fellowship, we successfully carried out our joint charity project there. Special thanks to the Lion Advisor and Leos from Leo Club of Medan Spirit.

LasLastly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish All The Very Best to our incoming President Leo Vinz Ang and his fellow BOD!

Thank you. Roar! Roar! Roar!Leo Teoh Shaw JheePresident 2013-2014

TOGETHER WITH LEOS FROM Medan Spirit, our first official twinning trip to Medan kicked off with a visit to Taman Tjong Yong Hian, the final resting place for Tjong Yong Hian and his wife, whom has a huge role to play in the development of Medan. the development of Medan. We had the privilege to tour around the memorial museum guided by the late Tjong Yong Hian's great-great-great daughter-in-law, Lion Linda from Lions Club of Medan Merdeka.

WE WERE HONOURED AS WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to dine with the Assemblyman of Medan City, Mr. Hasyim Wijaya whom happens to be a Lion from Lions Club Medan Pioneer Diamond. This dinner served as a welcoming dinner and also functioned as an ice-breaking event to strengthen the bonds that were formally formed and to introduce members that couldn't attend previous events. events.

WE TOOK A BUS TRIP UP TO BRASTAGI,

made a couple stops and dined in the villa of

Lion Edwin and Lion Ameilia from Lions Club

of Medan Pioneer Diamond Lion Club Medan

Pioneer, the scrumptious spread of food

prepared us for the hot spring spa we had

after dinner; it was a first time most of our

members visited a hot spring spa; members visited a hot spring spa; though the

sulphur smell was overwhelming, but the

water is proved to improve skin conditions.

THE FOLLOWING and final day we went to donate some food which includes rice, cooking oil, tea and noodles to several residents in Sidiklang, ororganised with the help of Lion Chandra from Lions Club of Medan Pioneer. Although it was drizzling, the smile on the faces of the rrecipients was priceless.

WE THEN VISITED A CIVET CAT FARM, THE EXCREMENT FROM THE CATS IS ONE OF THE MOST

priced coffee in the world, and it has a stronger aroma and has a fruity and smooth aftertaste. It’s

said, when life gives you lemon, you make lemonade. Our bus was unfortunately stuck in the mud on

our way out from the Civet cat farm, although due to the misfortune we had to cancel several planed

stops on the back to Medan, w e took this opportunity to strengthen our bonds and use it as a team

building exercise, members from both clubs braved the rain and dirt to free the bus alongside some

locals.
