Its hard to believe that September is half over and we arecutting up leaves not because of cool weather but due to thelack of rain. I looked like a dust storm had consumed me aweek ago after cutting up the leaves. I am waiting to see thecrimson, golden, & amber leaves, fall is truly Gods handywork in display. Isnt God awesome?!

Tom had his left eye surgery on August 26th is doing great. One more week of eye drops and he goes for an eye exam, then will get a good pair reading/transition glasses by the endof the month. To God be the Glory!

In search of an article for this newsletter I came across the story of Charles D.Watson, it the first time I have heard about him and want to share it with you.Its amazing of how God can move in ones life when the person turns their lifeover to God. I was truly blessed reading it and hope you will be to. He states inhis book (Mansions Right-Hand Man Speaks Out) I see fewer than 10% of inmates boldly professing Christ, but a larger percentage are closet believers.

He also states, The Holy Spirit working through Christian inmates actuallyrestrains sin in prison and helps to keep peace among the inmates. I find thatalmost every inmate is willing to accept a Bible upon arriving in prison. Christ saidHe came not to call the righteous to repentance, but the sinner. We must thankGod for our Chapel programs, volunteers and Christian inmates. They are veryimportant to America's justice system. His website is truly information and givesglory to God. Michael Wills wanted to share his joy; he was granted parole on his first attemptin June & will be leaving BCF Michigan prison in November.

About CharlesAbout CharlesAbout CharlesAbout Charles - --- PastPastPastPastCharles was born in 1945, at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Dallas,Texas. He grew up in Copeville, 35 miles north of Dallas. He left North TexasUniversity, where he was a student, for California in 1967, believing that outwest promised satisfaction through drugs, sex and rock 'n roll. His personalidentity was very shallow because he lacked a sound belief system. In California, he enrolled in college and secured a job, but soon dropped outin exchange for the fast life. He met Manson and ended up becoming amember of the "Manson Family". He was part of this group for a year. Mansonoffered utopia, but in reality, he had a destructive worldview, which Charlesended up believing in and acting upon. His participation in the 1969 Mansonmurders is a part of history that he deeply regrets. For participation in these crimes, he received a death sentence, which wasoverturned in 1972. Charles remained imprisoned with a life sentence andthree years later, Christ came into his heart and called him into the ministry. He began ministry training and co-authored the book Will You Die For Me?in 1978. This book has touched thousands of prisoners spiritually. Hefounded the original Abounding Love Ministries in 1980, and became anordained minister in 1983. He has spent all these years ministering toprisoners and to others around the world. His website was created in 1997, and has received millions of hits worldwide. In recent years, he wrote the book Mansion's Right-Hand Man Speaks out!to answer the many questions he is still asked in interviews and throughletters. His distant past is a tragedy from any point of view, but for theprevious three decades, his life has testified to the awesome grace of God.

About CharlesAbout CharlesAbout CharlesAbout Charles - --- PresentPresentPresentPresentCharles lives peacefully in prison. He is a man of character, who shinesbrightly in a dark place. His identity has shifted from that of a murderer to achild of God. He no longer allows his crime to identify who he is. He seeshimself as God sees him - a new creation in Christ. He is not only a man of faith, but of feeling. His job is the facility bio-hazard

janitor. He walks the prison yard while sharing what it means to be aChristian. He fellowships with other Christians and helps them to see God astheir heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally. He is a man of sound logic and reasoning. People listen to him because of thelife they see him living. He listens to people and encourages them in their

weaknesses. He shares a Godly wisdom that has come through past failuresand years of spiritual and mental growth. In 2009, he completed his B. S. inBusiness Management. He boldly rejects the perception of legalistic Christianity, where people are ledto believe they can earn their salvation through their own good works. He livesevery day reaching out to unbelievers with the grace of God and prays withbelievers to understand their awesome inheritance because of their unionwith Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

About CharlesAbout CharlesAbout CharlesAbout Charles - --- FutureFutureFutureFutureCharles sees a dynamic future for himself with God in control. He moveswith strong faith and high optimism. As the prophet Daniel says, " ...the

people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits " (11:32).Charles knows his God and trusts Him with all future plans.Charles sees the Lord continuing to bless others through his writings. Hesees himself exhorting not only prisoners, but even a wider audience onthe world wide web. He sees the value of a life serving others by being anexample of God's ability to change lives. He sees a life ahead of many growing friendships not only in prison, butoutside. Will Charles ever be set free from prison? His freedom in Christis what he really counts as joy. He does desire a future in free societywith his family, but that is not of utmost importance. He has truly learnedto be content in whatever state he is in.

He would like to be paroled and move back to Texas, but expects Christwill return for His church way before then. He looks forward to the glory of heaven, but until then, he wakes up daily spending time with God. Hewants to encourage you to shift your perception from earth towardsheaven, so together we can be more effective in the days to come.

Psalm 34:18-19 The LORD is nigh to them that are of a broken heart; and savethsuch as are of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD

delivereth him out of them all.The Bible tells us that God hears the prayers of those that love Him and deliversthem out of all their troubles. There seems to be cycles of blessings and cycles of testings that we all have to go through. If youre experiencing disappointment today, remember that God is near to those who are disappointed.Matthew 5:4 says, Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Anytime youre going through a cycle of disappointment in your life, you need thesupport of others. One can put a thousand to flight, but two can put ten thousand toflight. Every believer has the spiritual strength to send a thousand enemies running. When you come into agreement with another person your spiritual strength ismultiplied by ten.Theres a principle in the Kingdom of God that says, Where any two agree as

touching anything it shall be done for them. Gods Word tells us that there issupernatural strength for people who are in agreement.God created the church in such a way that we are to be a family. When were goingthrough a disappointment, thats when we need each other the most. We all haveissues in our lives, and we cannot overcome them by ourselves. To recover from disappointment, you have to let go of any bitterness. Decide whether you are going to be bitter or if you are going to get better. Bitterness will steal your joy and happiness. Its dangerous to let bitterness come into your heart. If you letbitterness stay long enough, it will harden your heart.
