2000: Yes, yes, very clever.
Be accurate.Don't just state the obvious.Use common language.Write clearly.Use strong active verbs.

Use an appropriate tone.Take your headline from the top of your story.
Watch out for unintended puns.

Think of a headline like a jigsaw puzzle.
First come up with key words.Then play around with the key words.
Make a list of catch phrases, movie titles, expressions that relate to the key words.
