Introduction　Initial submission and review and final manuscript submission are being processed on the website of the Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic (J-STAGE) developed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. Please follow this manual for your reference.

The submission after the deadline is NOT ACCEPTED.We welcome good quality contributions.

Click “Submit Initial Manuscript”.

｝Note: 30 minutes after starting operation on the website, "Time Out Error" will occur. And all the input data will automatically disappear. So it is highly recommended to prepare all the necessary data in a text file previously and copy and paste the data into the text boxes on the website.

2. Initial Submission2.1 Manuscript and Contact (Corresponding) Author Information

• Items marked with “*” are required. Others are optional.• Click an error message to jump to the corresponding error data.• Please do not use browser's back and forward buttons.• Please do not input 2-byte characters.

Note: Please check if there are any 2-byte apostrophe and/or double quotation marks.In this case, the procedure for inputting data will be discontinued.These 2-byte characters are automatically converted if you use Japanese/Korean /Chinese-language version of MS/Mac Word. Please surely change 2-byte characters to 1-byte characters.Examples: ‘ ’→ ' ' “ ”→ " "

2.3 Keywords

1. Enter keywords. In the initial page there are only 3 text boxes, however, you can add up to 5 boxes to enter more keywords.

2.4 File Upload1) Manuscript in a consolidated PDF file should be uploaded to the website.PDF file size to upload must be or less than 30MB.• Items marked with “*” are required.• Filename should be in one-byte alphanumeric character without spaces.• Click an error message to jump to the corresponding error data.• Please do not use browser's back and forward buttons.

3. Initial Manuscript Resubmission

Resubmission request will be sent by email when there are incomplete information or format error of the submitted PDF and/or Word file(s).Please go to “Manuscript Submitter Menu” at http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/JAABE/initialsubmission/ and confirm “Comment(s) from the Office” and resubmit your manuscript by the due date.

3.1 Resubmit Manuscript Click “Re-Submit Initial Manuscript” on the center of the menu.

Resubmission procedures are: • The same procedure(s) as “2. Initial Submission”. ’ 2.1 “Manuscript and Contact/Corresponding Author” ’ 2.2 “Author(s) Information” ’ 2.3 “Keywords” ’ 2.4 “File Upload”

Note: At first initial filename is shown to the left of the box. Please surely upload revised file and then confirm that the filename (shown to the left of the box) has been changed.

5. Review Result Notice

1) Authors will be informed the review result from the Field Editor via email soon after preliminary judgment based on the review report(s).

2) Review ResultThe review result is one of the following three preliminary judgments.

• Accept - Please correct the manuscript according to comment(s) (if any) from the Editor and/or Reviewer(s) and submit the final manuscript within two weeks.

• Requires changes - Please correct/revise the manuscript according to the comment(s) from the Editor and/or Reviewer(s) and submit the revised manuscript within two weeks.

• Reject - Please confirm comments from the Editor and/or Reviewer(s).

5.1 Revised Manuscript Submission

1) Please Login to “Contributor's Menu”. Click “Editor's Comment” to view comment(s) from the Editor and/or Reviewer(s).

4) Up-loading revised manuscript

The filename uploaded at the last time (Initially Submitted) is displayed to the left of the box. Please click “Browse (/Choose)”, and then select revised file and click “Upload”. Maximum file size is 30MB.

Confirm the filename and click “Next”.

It takes several minutes.

After clicking “Upload”, .....

6) Submit Revised Manuscript

6. Final Manuscript Submission

Revised manuscript will be sent to the Editor/Field Editor for final judgment. Final manuscript submission request will be sent after the final judgment. Final manuscript must be submitted by the due date informed via email.
