Moments Under The InfluenceA collection of flick-books promoting alcohol awareness among young people. The books illustrate different situations young people often find themselves in, after consuming alcohol.

RedividerA visual explanation of a palindrome. The design works by encouraging the viewer to solve the contained puzzle and correct folding pattern and then send it back to me. Like a palindrome this solution works both ways.

JORDAN NELSONTOO MANY FRECKLES…

BACKGROUND_I was born in a little mining village in Edinburgh called Newcraighall. I studied graphic design in Dundee (the city of discovery) at Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art & Design. I successfully completed my degree with a first class honours and was awarded the Jim Campbell award — best overall graphic design student of the year. I also gained membership to the International Society of Typographic Designers and was awarded a merit for my submission. I am currently looking for a new challenge, a new experience, an adventure—and I’m prepared to relocate for the right opportunity.

STRENGTHS__I am an enthusiastic creative person with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for design. I aspire to create design that is aesthetically pleasing while maintaining a strong conceptual grounding. I love the excitement and the journey of developing an idea from the initial stages through to the final outcome. I appreciate and understand the importance of the creative process and feel passionately that strong research and development is the essence of any project and vital towards informing and underpinning a final solution. I am a highly driven person with lots of ambition – a bit of a perfectionist even, with a keen eye for detail. One of my major passions is typography and I am eager for more knowledge in this area.

INTERESTS__Apart from design, I love reading, illustration, photography, art, cinema, spray painting, screen-printing, people watching, fashion, music, travelling, food (eating and cooking), entertaining friends, exploring, sampling different cultures, youth work, teaching, attending design talks/seminars, visiting exhibitions, playing football, hill-walking, cycling, swimming, fruit, fry-ups and spending time with friends and family.
