Gives a short note about the development of the vagina

Upper 1/3 of the vagina- Develops from the fusion of the both of the lower vertical mullerian duct

Lower 2/3 of the vagina- Develops from def. urogenital sinus as follows:

- Two sinovaginal bulb grow up from the dorsal wall of (DUS)- Later, this bulbs fuses together forming vaginal plate- This plate increases the distance between the lower part of uterine canal

and (DUS)- Later, this plate undergo canalization about 5th month to form lower 2/3

of the vagina

So, vagina has double origins:- 1. upper 1/3from uterine canal- 2. lower part 2/3 from DUS
