Q: HOW MUCH OF A ROLE DOES TREND PLAY IN YOUR LIFE? I love to have fun with trends and see how I can apply them to my aesthetic, but I have definitely developed a core style over the years —both personally and in our design.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR ACCESSORIZING?I think layering is the way to go—choose your wrist or your neck and wear multiple pieces at once. It creates a distinctive look with your personality shining through!

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WOMEN’S FASHION RIGHT NOW? Well, I picked out a few trends that inspired the fall collection— Shine for Day (the sparkle bugs, page 5), Pretty Punk (our new fab and fun bibs, earrings and bracelets, page 9), and our Signature Convertibles (the short-to-long necks, page 14).

All of which point to the best thing about fashion—individuality! There is so much room to be creative and have fun in the fashion industry. I love seeing how different people in my life (or even on the street) pull together a look.

Q: WHAT’S THE ONE THING YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?My friend Phyllis says I’m very ‘makey-makey’, and it’s true! I’m happiest when I’m designing jewelry, making art, decorating my home, creating travel journals…

J o h n W i n dQ: WHAT INSPIRES YOU? My inspiration comes from both past and present vintage jewelry, flea market finds and the history of fashion on the one hand; exciting trends, street style, and our stylish customers on the other!

Q: CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORK WITH THE CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY? The CSC is a national organization whose mission is to 'ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.' We've designed a collection of fundraising jewelry for them, with charms symbolic of love and healing.

Q: YOU'VE JUST BECOME A BOARD MEMBER OF THE ACCESSORIES COUNCIL, CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE WORK THAT YOU DO? The Accessories Council’s goal is to stimulate awareness and demand for accessory products. Turns out it was founded in the early 1990’s, when the minimalism trend was really hurting the industry. Now customers are generally very excited about accessories, but the council’s job is to continue spreading the word along with helping smaller companies grow, and welcoming newcomers to this amazing industry!

Recently the Council started an initiative called 'USA Made', which is focused on helping companies manufacture the bulk of their products in the USA. Manufacturing at our studio in Philadelphia has always been a core value of the company—and we are proud to be a part of this movement.
