Provides quality Radiological Control and Chemistry training to Shift Test Engineers, to instruct them in the safe operation of nuclear reactors and to prepare them for NAVSEA qualification.

Delivers technical guidance in the maintenance, repair and operations of radiological and chemistry-related systems on Virginia class submarines.

Selected to give just-in-time training to design engineers working in the Ohio Replacement Program on chemistry operations and fleet lessons learned, leading to important improvements in the design of the Ohio Replacement layout.

Oct 2013 – July 2016 Submarine Chief CHEMISTRY AND RADIOLOGICAL CONTROLS ASSISTANT, Commander Submarine Squadron Four, Groton, CT. Provided leadership, mentorship and training to 12 reactor laboratory division leading

Chief Petty Officers / First Class Petty Officers and Division Officers. Trained all engineering department personnel who are responsible for the safe operation of the Reactor and Steam Plant.

Provided technical guidance in the maintenance, repair and operations of radiological and chemistry-related systems on Los Angeles and Virginia class submarines.

Interfaced with multiple outside technical agencies utilizing both civilian and military system matter experts to provide guidance/assistance to the assigned Reactor Laboratory divisions.

Identified problematic issues on submarines and works with other staff members to determine the root cause and track effective corrective actions by ship’s force.

Responsible for Radiation Health and Dosimetry coordination for all members of Squadron Four staff.

Scheduled preventative maintenance of equipment; ensured procedures were followed and prerequisites were met for equipment repairs including any high risk repairs on reactor plant equipment.

Developed, maintained, and provided training lesson plans/schedules for 2 divisions and engineering department, ensuring each met the required levels of knowledge and certification.

Ensured proper tagout and re-entry control procedures were followed. Verified that retest requirements were properly accomplished. Implemented, trained on and maintained NAVSEA and ship’s policies on safety and
