Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2013 -- A recent report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that
the average jobless rate fell in 26 states and Washington D.C. in March 2013 and increased in seven states. For
the remaining 17 states, there was no change according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment
rate also went down by 0.6 percent compared to last March, with the March 2013 rate being 7.6 percent.
Job search site EmploymentCrossing.com supports this finding with its own data, which shows that there are at
least 2 million job openings across the country. The states that saw the biggest gain in number of jobs were
Florida, which added 32,000 net jobs followed by California where 25,500 net jobs were created.
Job search website EmploymentCrossing.com has also seen a considerable number of job openings open up in
these two states. Florida has 105,000 jobs available and California has 235,000 jobs according to the latest jobs
data. Even in the states that saw the largest over-the-month decrease in jobs; Ohio and Illinois,
EmploymentCrossing.com has found thousands of job openings. Ohio has 62,000 job openings and Illinois has
91,000 job openings.
In terms of industries and job creation, the healthcare industry continues to be the top jobs creator in the country
with 369,000 healthcare jobs across the country. The remaining nine industries in the top ten list are:
Information Technology- 264,000 job openings
Sales – 221,000 job openings
Retail – 200,000 job openings
Customer Service – 191,000 job openings
Engineering- 157,000 job openings
Hospitality – 147,000 job openings
Nursing – 138,000 job openings
Financial Services- 101,000 job openings
Accounting – 75,000 job openings
