Jewellery & Accessories Making: Upcycling Jewellery & Accessories Making DescriptionExplore working with a variety of reclaimed materials and upcycling to create new jewellery and accessory wearables. You will learn to design and complete wearable work from found objects or upcycled treasures of your own choice, completing at least one finished piece.

Content• Re-designing recycled components, guided by tutor expertise

and inspiration• De-construction of found objects / upcycled treasures supplied

by student, these could include (but not limited to): jewellery, clothing, hats, bags, opshopped curiosities, old toys, reclaimed haberdashery / trim etc etc

• Re-construction, joining, threading, combining using a variety of simple hand tools and cold joining techniques

Suited toGreat for beginners or experienced makers as it offers a combination of hands-on skills with alternative application of processes and techniques to upcycled materials. The course will inspire students to see found objects in a new light whilst the de-construction and re-construction process evokes a method of creative discovery.

DeliveryThis course is delivered over 2 Saturdays. The course fee is $385.

DescriptionThis course is an introduction to jewellery and accessory making. You will learn to design and complete wearable works, creating pendants, neckpieces, earrings or bangles or applying the techniques to garment fixings such as clasps and buttons. You will become familiar with the foundational hand metal working techniques of jewellery design while exploring how different types of hand sewing, garment construction and other multi-disciplinary techniques and materials can be applied to creating distinctive and unique metal pieces.

Content• Concepts and design development• Making of paper patterns for construction of intended chosen

works• Cutting, folding, saw piercing (cut and piercing techniques)• Wire work, awling, scoring, scribing, etching• Threading, filing, polishing

Suited toThis course is ideal for beginners who are interested in making metal jewellery, garment fixings and accessories..

DeliveryThis course is delivered as an intensive course over 4 days. The course fee is $575.

Description

This course offers an introduction to Rhinoceros 3D modelling software

& 3D printing, with an emphasis on designing and 3D printing a ring, clasp,

button, garment fixing or small container. The course will cover basic 2D

drawing and tracing techniques and their application to creating 3D forms.

It will include a practical guide to creating models for 3D printing & creating

files for outsourcing 3D printing to printing bureau services in the future.

Participants must be proficient with the general use of a computer. Content• Practical introduction to Rhino3D modeling software including:

• - Screen layout, user interface, viewports

• - Drawing lines, surfaces, solids and tracing from photographs

• - Transforming and manipulating solids, measuring
