Memory VerseBut say the word, and my servant will

be healed (Luke 7:7)

Introduction • Who remembers the last lesson and

verse?• What should I do when I feel ill?• Give the names of some of the sick

people that the Lord healed?• How did the Lord Jesus Christ heal

those sick people? Did He give them medicine?

A Centurion

• The Lord Jesus Christ entered into a city called Capernaum teaching the people.

• There was a Centurion = A Roman officer in charge of 80 soldiers in the army.

Compassion

• This Centurion had a faithful servant who was so sick and about to die.

• When he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him to ask Him to come and heal his servant.

Love for God and His People• And when they came to

Jesus, they begged Him saying that this Centurion is deserving:– “for he loves our nation,

and has built us a synagogue.”

Humility

• So Jesus went with them. • When He was already not far from

the house, the Centurion sent friends to Him, saying:– “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for

I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.”

– “Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You.”

But say the Word– “But say the word, and

my servant will be healed.”

– “ For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go’, and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Great Faith

• When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him:– “I say to you, I

have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”

Healing Power of the Lord• And those who were sent, returning

to the house, found the servant well who hand been sick.

The Power of the Word of God!

• See what the WORD of GOD can do ! • This is how the world was made. – “For In the beginning was the

Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)

faith that the Lord may heal them!
