BLEND(ing) in a normal application

a. to combine or mix so that the constituent parts are indistinguishable from each other

b. to combine varieties to obtain a mixture of a particular character, quality, or consistency

c. to form a unique mixture

d. to merge into one or unite

e. to create a harmonious effect or result

BLEND(ing) in a misused or reinterpreted application

a. an unexpected blend is created by arranging a field of disparate images (parts) that, through their lack of heirarchy and controlled spacing, blend together—however the individual parts are still distinguishable from the whole.

b. by extrapolating isolated visual components from each study a “topography” or landscape of the material is created. individual components are layered on top of each other to create a systematic, “blended” heirarchy—however the individual components still retain integrity.

MISUSE the act of blending through computational tools

ABUSE & steal your peers misuses — aviv lichter, aggie toppins, supisa wattanasansanee

GIVE THANKS to those you “abused” — create a type treatment as a gift

compliments for the creators of the stolen “misuses”
